The Tucson J Stingrays Swim Team provides a competitive, well-balanced training environment emphasizing individual and team improvement. We help athletes develop a work ethic and healthy sense of competition that provides the backbone of success in the pool, the classroom, and beyond.

The Tucson J Stingrays Swim Team values hard work, the pursuit of excellence, and mutual respect for teammates and competitors. The Team strives to work with swimmers of all abilities. We expect our swimmers to honor performance and sportsmanship. Additionally, we are committed to athlete protection and provide a safe, healthy, and positive environment for all of our swimmers. 



Head Coach Marika Hodge

Coach Marika believes in inclusivity, respectability, and accountability. She expects athletes to always exhibit good character, and believes that good goal-setting and hard work will lead to accomplishments on and off the pool deck. There is nothing she hates more than wasted time, but she finds that value can be found in even the most unexpected activities. Coach Marika believes that finding the fun in competitive swimming always comes first. 


Coach Mallory Shenker

Coach Mallory strives to promote perseverance, self-awareness and respect. She values swimmers that bring a positive attitude and their best efforts to the team. Coach Mallory holds swimmer accountable through consistent, positive feedback. Swimming is a life-long skill with not only great physical, but mental benefits as well. She believes that a positive relationship with the water and the sport of swimming, along with a strong foundation of stroke form & technique, can set swimmers up for overall wellness success long term.





USA Swimming is the National Governing Body for the sport of swimming. We administer competitive swimming in accordance with the Olympic & Amateur Sports Act. We provide programs and services for our members, supporters, affiliates and the interested public. We value these members of the swimming community, and the staff and volunteers who serve them. We are committed to the excellence and the improvement of our sport. We are committed to providing a safe and positive environment for all members.
