By Agatha On January 31, we had our fourth time trial - but it looked different than usual. Each group was timed separately and followed COVID protocols set by pools and Swim BC. Although not the typical time trial, the younger swimmers were still able to get a taste of racing and see how much they improved since the last one. Many swimmers were able to achieve best times! Good job everyone!

On November 7th, the Provincial Health Officer, Dr. Bonnie Henry issued new temporary restriction orders for the lower mainland. These new orders are in effect from November 7th at 10:00pm to November 23rd at 12:00pm. By Anchie Xu The 2020 BC Winter Provincial Championship was hosted by Island Swimming Club on March 5-8 at Saanish Commonwealth Place. There were 42 teams, a total of 605 Provincial standards qualifiers racing at this provincial champs. By Anchie Xu On February 21-23, Canadian Dolphin Swim Club hosted the Winter Age Group Championship at Vancouver Aquatic Centre. That was the top swim meet of Province BC for 13 and under swimmers. 482 swimmers from 38 swim teams participated in and made big splashes in the pool. We had eight swimmers from Elite B, Age A and Gold group represented Gators to race in this competition. By Kyle Cheng During February 15 and 16, we had 54 athletes represent our club at the Lower Mainland Regionals Championships (LMR Championships) and had a great success. Over the weekend, our swimmers swam 317 individual events and 10 relay teams. It was a very long weekend as it was the first ever LMR Champs held in a Prelim and Finals format. This was the first swim meet in 2020, and our Elite groups showed the benefits from the technique practices over the winter break.
