The Terrace Bluebacks swim club won its self-hosted meet on December 10-12 last year! 40 TBSC swimmers raced swimmers from the Prince Rupert Amateur Swim Club and the Kitimat Marlins Swim Club. PRASC placed second and the Marlins third. Several Bluebacks placed highly enough in their races to win aggregate medals in their age category. Many Bluebacks achieved best times in their races, sometimes by staggering amounts; and for several young Bluebacks it was a first-ever swim meet! Camryn Costain, Gabriel Ungehojer and Oliver Ungehojer qualified for SwimBC’s Northern-and-Interior divisional...

The Bluebacks have had a strong, if unexpectedly short 2019/2020 season and would like to recognize our highest-achieving athletes. Our competitor of the year, having won gold aggregate medals in the boys' 10-and-under division at the North Coast Invitational meet in Prince Rupert, the Terrace home meet, the Rio Tinto Northwest invitational meet in Kitimat, and the Bulkley Valley Otters' invitational meet in Smithers, (every meet he competed at), is Gabriel Ungehojer. For the month of January, the senior swimmers are Erin Billson and Warn Hesse, and the junior swimmers are Amy Campbell and Nevaeh Alaggia-Mumford. No goody-goodies, our swimmers of the month were chosen because they swim fast and take their training seriously. Amy, Nevaeh, Erin and Warn's talent and attitudes benefit the other members of their training...
