Todd Roberts Head Coach

Coach Todd has returned to EPAP after spending 11 years in the corporate world. He was formerly the Head Age Group Coach for EPAP from 1996-2007. During that time, Coach Todd produced many TAGS and Junior Nationals qualifiers.

Todd grew up swimming for EPAP under Coach Leo Cancellare. He was a four time All American at Coronado High School before going on to swim for the University of Southern California.

Todd is married to Jocelyn who was introduced to him by Coach Leo. They have three sons: Magnus, Raif, and Reece, all of whom swim for the blue and gold.

Jack White Senior Coach

Jack White has logged three decades with El Paso Aqua Posse - 6 years as a swimmer, and 24 as a coach. Over that span of time, Coach Jack has so many memorable moments that he cannot pick just one! Among his favorite moments throughout his coaching career are the numerous high point TAGs winners, coaching a Junior National 100 fly champion, sending 2 EPAP swimmers to the Olympics to swim for the Mexican team, and sending two local swimmers to the Olympic trials in 2000.

The kids are what keep Coach Jack coming back.  His quiet, encouraging way is complimented by his disciplined dedication.  Coach Jack shares his strong work ethic with all of the older Aqua Posse swimmers which leaves the younger swimmers in awe and gives them a goal to work toward:  swimming in “Jack’s group.”

When he’s not coaching EPAP, Coach Jack is Head Coach for the Cathedral High swim team where he also teaches Social Studies. He is married and has two sons, one of which just began attending UTPB with a swimming scholarship!

Stephanie Bates Lead Coach - SAC

Stephanie started swimming at an early age in Kansas and continued through high school by swimming summer league and for her high school. She began coaching in 2008 as the Girl's Head Swimming Coach for Maur Hill-Mount Academy in Atchison, KS where she also taught music classes, then as an assistant coach for the Kansas City Blazers swim team for 2 years. She has continued coaching and teaching in various places around the world thanks to her husband's career in the United States Army. Before coming to EPAP, Stephanie was a Head Site Coach for Cheyenne Mountain Aquatics in Colorado Springs.

As a member of the military community, a certified teacher, coach, and member of ASCA (Level 2 Certification), being a life-long learner is important to Coach Stephanie. She likes to incorporate different subject areas into swimming (math, music, history, social studies, character development, science, etc. They can all be connected to swimming!). She also promotes a "growth mindset" and hopes to share her love of learning with swimmers to help them reach their full potential. The moments which stick out the most to Coach Stephanie over her 10 years as a coach are the "aha!" moments that swimmers/students have when they make a learning connection.

Coach Stephanie enjoys spending time with her two dogs and husband, cooking and baking, swimming, traveling, reading, creating things (DIY projects and crafts), playing piano and trombone, hiking, and home improvement projects.

Her office hours are Monday-Thursday from 9am-3pm.
