Program Description

Chino Hills Aquatics Junior Lifeguard program is designed to provide an unique experience for youth ages 10-16 to develop their leadership and aquatics skills in a professional swim lessons environment with an emphasis on integrity and performance. The following are the areas they will receive instruction and experience.

  • Red Cross Junior Lifeguarding & Water Safety Training
  • Red Cross CPR/AED & First Aid Training
  • Introduction to Swim Instruction and Water Safety Instruction
  • Learn basic work skills including accountability, professionalism and communication
  • Practice Integrity & Leadership skills through participation

Course completion requirements:

  • Complete Junior Lifeguard Training , CPR/AED, First Aid
  • Learn and take a practical and written test on swim instruction
  • 30 minimum Practical on deck hours scheduled by choosing a regular schedule that works for your child e.g, choose 2 days a week morning or afternoon sesions, until the minimum requirement is fulfilled. Available hours are from June 12 to Aug 2 M-Th 8:45am-12:15pm (morning session) or 1:45pm-4:15pm (afternoon session)
  • Minimum swim requirement: Ability to complete 300 yard swim demonstrating both head down and head up
  • Certificates will be provided at the Jr. Lifeguards completion celebration.

Important Things To Know:

  • 1st Day wear country club attire (slacks/nice jeans with polo or blouse preferred)
  • Bring swim suit, towel, sun protection including sunglasses, hat, sunscreen. Red or White long sleeve rash guards encouraged
  • Sack lunch and water bottle
  • Choose your preferred schedule in advance and bring 1st day of training
  • Space is limited
  • All classroom materials are provided
