The Malibu Seawolves participated at the Summer Junior Olympics and every swimmer recorded life time best swims. Leading our Seawolves pack was Tallula Murphree who swam 4 new Team Records and was the runner up in the 1500 meter freestyle with a time of 19:17.17 mins. Filip Kurial was victorious at the 2021 Summer LC JO's in Santa Clarita. He swam new team records in the 50 free (24.28), 100 free (53.64) and 100 fly (59.91) events medaling in all three. He also bettered the record in the 100 meters backstroke (1:04.71). Ranger Murphree had a strong showing and swam 2 new LC team records in the 100 and 200 back with a 1:12.72 and 2:41.77. The City of Malibu has cancelled or postponed all non-essential City hosted and sponsored programs and events until April 30th "out of an ubandance of caution", it announced today. This includes unfortunately our workouts for the sealions and all other groups of the Malibu Seawolves and Masters Swimming. All meets have been cancelled per USA Swimming direction. We are trying to figure out what other options we can come up with such as dry land exercises to keep our young athletes going and you will all be updated as soon...
Tallula Murphree (12) and Filip Kurial (13) have qualified for the Southern California Swimming 14 & Under Junior Olympics Championships at the Rose Bowl Aquatics Center in Pasadena on March 12 - 15, 2020. Tallula will be competing in the 100 free, 50 breast and 100 breast and Filip will be competing in the 50 free, 100 free, 200 free and 500 free. Go Seawolves!
