Recreational Programs

Recreational programs offer young athletes a chance to focus on fun and fitness while developing fundamental artistic swimming skills.  These programs may stand alone or be an entry or beginner level within an established club. Recreational groups are invited to participate in club’s shows and/or demonstrations.

Try Synchro (All Ages)

The Try Synchro Program is an introductory program developed to introduce swimmers to this unique and challenging sport.  The focus of the program is to learn about the fun of synchronized swimming in a team.  It's a low-cost, low-pressure way to become familiar with synchronized swimming and to learn what it's all about.

This is an eight week program that runs in fall, winter, and spring.  Athletes train one day per week, either on Monday evening (6:00-7:00 pm) , Thursday evenings (5:45 -7:00 pm) or Saturday morning (class 1 9:00-10:00 am), (Class 2 10:00-11:00 am) .

The fee is $225 for each eight week session. We run a session in the fall, winter, and spring.

Fall Season Starts October

Winter Seasons Starts January

Spring Season Starts April

For Try Synchro, the athlete should be comfortable and capable of swimming in deep water for several minutes at a time.

Season dates may vary due to COVID Regulations.

Synchro Starters (7+)

The Synchro Starters Program is a Recreational introductory program designed to bridge the gap between Try Synchro and Novice and/or 10 & under.  The focus of the program is to build upon the strong basic skills learned in Try Synchro program and prepare our athletes for a more advanced novice recreation or the competitive programs.

This programs runs for April to June.  Athletes train one day a week (Thursdays) for 1 hours.

The fee is $100 a month from April to June.

Season Starts date TBD

For Synchro Starters, the athlete should be comfortable and capable of swimming in deep water for longer periods of time.

Regional League (Born 2010 or Earlier)

The Regional program is for those that want the fun and excitement of participating in competitions, but without the financial and time commitment of the full competitive program. The program runs from September to June, two days (4 hours) per week; Sunday 9:00-11:00 and Thursday 5:15-7:00.

Athletes will work on a routine throughout the year and will travel throughout southern Ontario to perform the routine with novice athletes from many other clubs. They will wear a special themed custom-made routine swim suit at all events.

The fee is $225 a month from October to June.

The Regional League starts in October 2020.

10 & Under Program (Born 2010 or Later)

In Brant, athletes aged 10 years and younger (born in 2009 or later) will have two options when they register. If they are looking for an introductory program they can register for TRY SYNCHRO, the traditional 8-week program. If the athlete and their family feel like they’re looking for something more they can register for the 10&Under Program. This program is run very much like a traditional "novice" program. With the new guidelines in place for athletes it makes the most sense to have all the athletes under 10 training together.  This option is also the one that provides the least amount of pressure emotionally for this age group.

The fee is $225 a month plus deposit from September to June. Included in fee is the training camp in August

The 2020-2021 schedule for the 10&Under Program will be:

  • Sundays 10:00am – 12:00pm
  • Wednesdays 6:00pm-8:00pm
  • 1st Saturday on the month 8:45am-11:00am

With the new structure set out by the province, athletes in a 10&Under program will still attend almost the same number of events as the Novice Competitive. However, there are several benefits to athletes being in the 10&Under program rather than novice:

They will be registered with other athletes of a similar level of physical and emotional development
Program designed specific to their age group
Practicing with an age group and team that the athletes will progress with through the years, forming team relationships
Cross training in other land activities including dance and flexibility instruction
Coaching staff with advanced training

Water equals accessibility! Whether it is for competition or for therapy, synchro boosts self - esteem, builds strength and stamina, and enhances the overall quality of life for people with disabilities. We offer 1-on-1 instruction for athletes with unique abilities with fantastic coaches in the sport of synchronized swimming. Athletes have the opportunity to swim in club watershow or even compete in regional events if interested. No experience is required.

The key criteria for participating in the program is that if the participant can swim, they can try synchro.

2020 - 2021 Season Wednesday 4:45-6:30pm

The fee is $225 a month from September to June.

Masters (21+)

This program is designed for swimmers over the age of 21 and includes both Recreational and Competitive Masters.

Our goal is to have fun and stay fit in a program that offers both recreational and competitive synchro training. The program provides a great opportunity for our "retired" provincial and national level swimmers to reunite and continue to swim in a sport they remain passionate about. If you love the water and are looking for something beyond swimming laps, synchronized swimming may be just the thing for you!

The fee is $70 a month from September to June.
