Sometimes referred to as "family account". When you log into the system, choose "My account" from the side menu. This is where you can pull up your invoices to verify charges and payments. You can also pull up "my account" and edit your information and your child's information. Your online Triton Account is important to keep updated. Please ensure you are changing / updating any contact numbers, addresses or email addresses as soon as possible. Club communications rely on this information to be as accurate as possible. Q: When and how do I receive my bill?

A: Every month on the 1st, an invoice is created online. All activity in the system at that time will appear on your invoice which will be sent out by email on the 1st of the billing month. All other activity after the 1st will be on your next invoice the following month. In order to view your bill log into the website using your email address provided to you by Triton Admin. You will be required to pay off your account to a ZERO balance by the 10th of that same month or be subject to a $25.00 late fee.

Q: How do I pay my bill?

A: Your invoice can be paid by E-Transfer or by cheque.  Cheques should be made payable to TCSS. E-TRANSFER instructions can be found here MAKE A PAYMENT 

At this time we do not accept Credit Card payments.

Steps to viewing payment/billing history

Please note that in order to check and verify if your payments have registered, you need to pull up your actual invoices to see the credit memos.

4. In the first column "Invoice Month" you will see all your invoices for current and past months, click on the invoice that you would like to view. This is a detailed invoice of charges and payments.
You can not see you payments by looking at accounts charges summary. You should also note that dates when you are looking. IE: when you do the quick look, you will see that it shows a projected total for the upcoming month.

Q: When are payments due to Triton Swimming?

A: Invoices are sent to you via email on the 1st of each month. All payments are due on the 10th of each month. Any payments received after that day of the month are considered late. Our late fee is $25.00 per month.

Q: How do I get my receipt?

A: Please log into your account and print your invoice/receipts. See above step for how to get into you billing/ payment history.

Q: Who do I talk to if I have a question about my invoice?

A: If you have a question regarding your invoice, send your inquiry to [email protected]

Q: How can I cancel my membership?

A: If you wish to cancel your membership, we need a written notice. Your written notice should be sent to [email protected] stating you wish to withdrawal. You will be responsible for all applicable fees as per the club drop out policy.

Q: What if my swimmer wants to take a break from swimming for a couple of months?

A: If you wish to become inactive from the club, we need written sent by email to [email protected] and the club drop out policy will apply.


A: In order to find out when and where your child swims please consult the SCHEDULE under the PROGRAMS tab. You will find a complete list and schedule of all practice times and locations of your child’s group listed there.


A: When considering swimming there are various costs to factor in. There is a yearly membership fee, a training fee, swim meets & equipment. Membership fee and training fees are posted in the PROGRAMS tab. Please see further in this document for information on equipment and swim meets.


To maintain membership in good standing in the Club all annual fees and obligations must be paid in full and kept current.
The fee schedule is set as low as possible and includes each family's portion of the fundraising commitment.
Competitive swimmers are swimmers registered in groups Blue and above. Whether your swimmer will attend a meet or not, they are considered competitive. Their membership is based on their age.


Training fees depend on what group your child is in, and how often they swim.
You can find the current years training fees under the “PROGRAM” tab, under each specific group name.


There many different organizations the support children in sports. Please visit our website under parent info/financial assistance for more information on how to apply for these grants.


Triton Swim Club team wear during meets will consist of a swimsuit, a Triton swim cap and Club T-shirt. Team Track suits or Yoga wear are optional, but encouraged for swimmers who will be attending Meet and/or team sponsored events.

Specific groups are required to have specific equipment for training. Please go to the equipment page for a complete list of what your swimmer may need.
Other training equipment such as flippers, goggles, practice suits etc.


The Triton Swim Club works very hard to maintain its commitment to be a family oriented club that is reasonably accessible to all interested swimmers. It is required that all Triton Parents provide support for all hosted meets. Fundraising is planned and executed through Triton Competitive Swim Society (TCSS) Parent Society. All questions and concerns regarding fundraising should be directed to the TCSS Executive. See Parent society section of the website.
Each year the Club organizes ways each family may fundraise through the sale of various items. The Club counts on your participation to control fees.

Q: How do we know what fundraisers there are?

A: A list of fundraisers for the current season can be found under the Parent Society tab


Occasionally the Club has an opportunity to work Bingos. An email soliciting volunteers will be sent out when needed. Spots are filled on a first come, first serve basis.

Participating in fundraisers are mandatory and have set guidelines depending on the group you are in. Please check you group level and verify the commitment level. If you have any questions, please contact the Director of Fundraising directly at [email protected]

By active participation in fundraising, fees can be maintained at a reasonable level. Most dry land training fees are included. Should you decide to withdraw early, notification must be submitted in writing to [email protected] , two weeks in advance. Triton withdrawal policy and rates can be found under parent education/policy. Entry fees for meets, travel costs, equipment costs, etc., will be assessed at the time the expense is incurred and billed to your family account. Family Accounts are to be paid in full when statements are sent out. The Swim Club relies extensively on fundraising and sponsorship to generate Club revenues. The advantage of fundraising is that Club fees are kept at lower levels. Fundraising is an easy way to help pay your fees.


Sponsorship is another form of fund raising that involves all Club members. Sponsors are generally solicited for Club events such as the Swim Meets. For such events, a letter will go out to Club members requesting that they approach individuals and companies for sponsorship. Parent’s play two vital roles at swim meet competitions. In order to provide a top quality swim experience, many officials are required. There are a number of different types of officials required; timers, stroke and turn judges, marshaling, etc. These positions are all within the capabilities of any parent and short training clinics are provided to train the inexperienced. These clinics teach the basic skills and can lead to S.N.C. officiating designations. For more information please visit our Officiating Link under meets / events.

All Triton swim families registered in the competitive program will be required to have a minimum of 1 certified official.
Competitive program means they are eligible to compete at meets. The Triton Can Swim (TCS) program is not a competitive program. It is a learning program, developing swimmers to enter the competitive Program.

Each season as you continue in the Triton program you will be expected to take the necessary clinics in order to become a more senior official. This is your chance to get ahead of the game. The level 1 official course is also available online at Classroom Course dates will be posted below as they become available.

The Triton Competitive Swim Society (TCSS) is a registered “Not for Profit” Society that exists to administer the functions of the Swim Club, especially fundraising. The Club is run by an elected Board of Directors drawn from members of the Club. These members are elected at the Annual General Meeting in the spring of each year; all positions are volunteer. The Board of Directors meet on a monthly basis or as required. 

The by-laws of the Club detail the rules, regulations and descriptions of officers in the Club. The bylaws, minutes and all info regarding TCSS can be found under Parent Society.



There are 17 individual events and 5 relays for men and women in a swimming meet. In the Olympic Games there are only 13 individual events and 3 relays for men and 2 relays for women. Not every meet will offer every event due to time constraints.



A: The meets are posted on the Events section of the website. Within the description we try and post whom the meet is geared for. We add details as we get them from the hosting club. If you are unsure if a specific meet is suited for your swimmer, please talk to your coach and they can let you know.

How much do meets cost?

Cost of meet is dependent on whether it is local or travel, how many days, level of competition and much more. We upload the costs to the event page as we receive details (meet packages) from the hosting Swim Club. Your account will be charged for the meet prior to the event. Payment can be made as outlined in the payment section above.

How long are meets?

Every meet is different. Approximate start and end time are posted to the event as we receive them.

How do I sign my swimmer up to attend a meet?

At the beginning of every season, our coaching staff publishes a meet list. This season’s schedule is currently located under “Events/Meets”. Parents are responsible for Signing Up for a swim meet prior to our deadline - not signing up will result in an assumed drop-out of the eligible meet. Coaches will then do the actual individual entries on behalf of all signed-up swimmers using their seasonal plan and expertise to determine the appropriate events for the swimmer. Once individual entries have been established they will be uploaded to the website. This is where you will be able to see what your child is swimming. Clothing and Gear for Swim Meets (these are suggested items, your swimmer / family may require other items not listed here)

Swim suit - Check three times before you leave to make sure that you have at least one suit packed

Water bottle
Swim cap

Towels(2) - 1 to keep in your bag and dry until the meet is over. You do not want to ride home wet.

Sweatshirt and T-shirt
Clean runners or deck shoes for deck wear.

Please label all items with swimmer's last name. Check with the meet manager or pool office for lost and found items.

What to Watch at a Swim Meet


Only backstroke is started in the water. The swimmers hold on to the end of the pool or the starting block with their backs towards the course. All other strokes are started from a dive, either from the blocks or from the edge of the pool. All races are started by a starter who issues the command: " Take your mark," then fires a pistol or uses an electronic visible and audible device (e.g. a horn). The swimmers must take their positions immediately after the command is given, and must remain motionless until the signal is given.


Many races are lost in poor starts and turns. In the start, the swimmer is called to the starting position by the starter who visually checks that all swimmers are down and still. Then, once the starter is satisfied, the race is started by either a gun or electronic tone.
Quick turns are essential to a good race. In all events the swimmer must touch the wall, but in the free style and backstroke the swimmer may flip turn as he/she reaches the wall, touching only with the feet. In the other strokes the swimmer must touch with or both hands before executing the turn.


The sprint races (50 and 100 metres) are an all out scramble from start to finish. The slightest mistake can cost precious hundredths of seconds and the race.
The 200 metre events require the swimmer to have a sense of pace as well as the ability to swim in a controlled sprint.

The 400, 800 and 1500 metre free styles require the swimmer to constantly be aware of where they are in the water and how tired they are becoming. Swimming the first portion of the race too fast can sap a swimmer's strength and cause a poor finish. Swimming the first portion of the race too slowly can separate the swimmer from the pack and make catching up impossible.

There are two ways to swim a distance race. Swimmers may elect to swim the race evenly (holding the same pace throughout the race) or they may negative split the race. A negative split occurs when the swimmer covers the second half of the race faster than the first half.
