Endi Babi Head Coach

Groups Coaching: HP - High Performance


Endi began his coaching career with the South Florida Aquatic Club, before coaching with the Markham Aquatic Club, then the Etobicoke Swim Club. Endi has had the privilege of coaching swimmers to over 20 Canadian National Age Group Records, over 30 Ontario Provincial Records, and has helped numerous age group swimmers reach Junior National, Senior National, and Olympic Trials standards as well as win multiple high point awards at the Ontario Provincial and Festival level. A former competitive swimmer himself, Endi knows well the character development, opportunities, and education that high-level sport and the Olympic movement can provide young student-athletes when combined with a desire to succeed.

Endi is thrilled to continue coaching at the Barrie Trojan Swim Club for the 2022-2023 season and beyond as Head Coach. 

Hans Witolla Age Group Coach

Groups Coaching: Junior


Hans has been coaching for his entire life, in Hamilton, Brantford, Guelph and now Barrie, where he and his lovely wife call home.  Over the years, he is proud to say that he has developed several Olympians as well as one Paralympic Finalist.  He takes even greater joy from the fact that his former athletes have become outstanding human beings and are successful in life beyond sport.  It makes his lifelong dedication to this profession worthwhile and satisfying.

Mikayla Tyrrell Age Group Coach

Groups Coaching: Senior & Novice


Mikayla is a returning Trojan, having swum for the club before moving to Halifax to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. While in Halifax she spent 6 years coaching with HTAC working with a range of athletes including novice athletes up to provincial swimmers. During her time in Halifax she was also President of the Dalhousie Masters Swim Club and participated as a coach with Swim Nova Scotia. Currently Mikayla is working as a registered Kinesiologist and coaching the master’s group. She also does some work with Senior swimmers and their dryland program, both consulting and active involvement.

Samuel Kuntz Age Group Coach
Groups Coaching: Senior Dev & TOP
Sam started swimming with the Muskoka Aquatic Club as a young teen, and quickly found success in the sport. During high school, Sam was a multiple time provincial medalist, national finalist, and club record holder. For his varsity career, Sam competed for the Guelph Gryphons varsity team, where he was a two-time varsity swim team MVP, and was captain in four of five years competing for Guelph. Sam was a multi-medalist at the OUA Championships and had made the finals at the USports Championships. 

His coaching experience started back with the Muskoka Aquatic Club, where Sam had volunteered to coach with several groups. While attending university, Sam coached for the Guelph Marlin Aquatic Club, as well as assisting the varsity team.

Sam is a recent graduate from the University of Guelph with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in the Honours Psychology stream.

Sam is extremely excited to continue his coaching career with the Trojans!

Groups Coaching: Novice/Lifeguard 


Rowan has been a member of the Barrie Trojan Swim Club for the past ten years, moving through Swim School to competitive programming. She is currently training with the Senior group and is passionate about swimming and sharing her love of sport with others.

Debbie Blechta Age Group Coach


Debbie joined the Barrie Trojan Swim Club as a parent in 2000 with all three of her children eventually swimming for the club.  She began coaching with the Trojans in 2004 with the first Swim School Program and has since gained experience coaching all three Novice levels with many swimmers achieving Regional Times.

Debbie swam competitively with Etobicoke Memorial Aquatic Club, Lakeshore Swimming Club and Varsity at Ryerson P. I.  She taught swimming, lifesaving, synchro and coached high school swim teams since she was a teen and has been an aquatic programmer with the Barrie YMCA and the City of Barrie.

Debbie shares per passion for swimming with her swimmers. Her goal as a coach is to introduce her Novice swimmers to competitive swimming by improving their technique and building their self-esteem while encouraging them to make friends and have fun.

Amanda Reason Masters Coach

Amanda has been an age group coach for the past five years at the Etobicoke Swim Club and has thoroughly enjoyed bringing her knowledge and experience to the pool deck. Over the length of her swimming career, Amanda broke the world-record in the 50m breaststroke and is a member of the 2012 Canadian Olympic Team. She attended the University of Calgary as a student-athlete and is continuing her studies at York University.

Amanda is excited to be joining the Barrie Trojan Swim Club as the Masters coach for the 2021-2022 season.
