THE COLLINGWOOD CLIPPERS SWIM CLUB COMPETES 

AT THE 

2019 DASH FOR CASH INVITATIONAL

The Collingwood Clippers Swim Club was well represented at the 2019 Dash for Cash Invitational hosted in Guelph, Ontario (March 28th to 31st). The three and a half day swim meet brought together 15 clubs from across Ontario. CCSC had 37 swimmers compete for the potential cash prizes offered to the winners of the 100m butterfly, 100m backstroke, 100m breaststroke, 100m freestyle and 200m individual medley events (per age group). Swimmers in the 12&under category could potentially win $50.00 per cash event, 13-14 and 15&over swimmers could potentially win $100.00 per event. Congratulations to Piper Mitchell (12) on winning all 5 girls 12&under cash events! Hailey Abbott (14) won the girls 13-14 100m breaststroke and Cole Mitchell (15) won the boys 15&over 100m freestyle. Our 37 swimmers had a total of 288 races, achieving 217 personal best times taking off a whopping 1,298.98 seconds! As a club we had 21 First place finishes, 10 Second place finishes and 12 Third place finishes. Well done swimmers! Over the weekend CCSC swimmers broke 8 long course club records, achieved 3 new Ontario Festival Championships time standards and 2 new Eastern Canadian Swimming Championship time standards. Long Course Club Records:

- Liam Paterson: Boys 10&Under 100m butterfly 1:32.40. Formally held by Nathan Richmire with a time of 1:32.66 set back in 1991! 

- Piper Mitchell: Girls 11-12y/o 100m backstroke 1:12.42, 100m butterfly 1:09.59 & 200m backstroke 2:36.63

- Hailey Abbott: Girls 13-14 y/o 50m breaststroke 36.62, 100m breaststroke 1:18.08 & 200m breaststroke 2:51.17

- Maggie Rhodes: Girls 13-14 y/o 200m backstroke 2:30.02

New Time Standards:

- Micah Abbott (8) - Huronia Long Course Regional time standard - 100m backstroke

- Maea Knights (11) - Ontario Festival Long Course Championships - 100m breaststroke 

- Andersen Hulshof (11) - Ontario Festival Long Course Championships - 200m butterfly

Our Jr. Clipper swimmers will be representing CCSC next weekend (April 7th) at the Owen Sound Devo Meet. The following weekend our AG3, AG2, AG1 and Senior Group swimmers will be competing at the Spring Turbo Charge Meet in Waterloo, ON (April 12th - 14th) as well as Hailey Abbott, Maggie Rhodes and Cole Mitchell will be competing at the 2019 Eastern Canadian Swimming Championships in Quebec City, QC (April 11th - 14th).
