22 Swimmers from the Collingwood Clippers Swim Club competed at the Dr. Ralph Hicken Swim International in Markham, Ontario hosted by the Mississauga Swim Club on May 16-19, 2019 where we competed against 23 other clubs from as far away as the Philippines and Anchorage, Alaska.  Out of 168 swims we achieved 123 Personal Best Times taking off 515.66 seconds and we posted some extremely fast swims breaking 13 Club Records and achieved many more Huronia Regional, Ontario Provincial and Canadian National Qualifying Time Standards.  

Our Record Breakers were:  

  • Liam Paterson – 10 & Under Boys 100m Butterfly in 1:29.69
  • Piper Mitchell – 11/12 Girls 400m Free 5:05.41, 800m Free 10:32.53, 50m Back 33.13, 100m Back 1:12.34, 200m Back 2:33.86, 50m Fly 31.43 and 400m IM 5:44.11
  • Maggie Rhodes – 13/14 Girls 50m Back 31.83, 100m Back 1:07.12 and 200m Back 2:26.67
  • Cole Mitchell – 15 & Over Boys 800m Free 9:30.84 and 1500m Free 17:58.95

Our Medal Winners were:

  • Piper Mitchell - Girls 11-12y/o Gold in 50m, 100m & 200m Backstroke. Bronze in 400m Individual Medley
  • Cole Mitchell - Boys 15&Over Silver in 1500m Freestyle & 200m Backstroke.
  • Maggie Rhodes - Girls 13-14y/o Silver in 100m Backstroke and Bronze in 200m Backstroke.
  • Liam Paterson - Boys 10&Under Bronze in 100m Butterfly.

Our Finalist were:

  • Hailey Abbott, McKay Barr, Breanna Cochrane, Jill Fawcett, Meg Howell, Marin Hurley, Aidan Mitchell, Cole Mitchell, McKenna Munro, Maggie Rhodes and Julia Tripp.
