Board of Education

Swim for fun! Swim for fitness! Swim for life!

 Did you know?…

There are over 30,000 lakes in Canada.
The oldest swimmer at the 2004 Canadian Masters Swim Championships was 92 years old!

Our Board of Education swim lesson program is an exciting program that will teach students the fundamental skills of swimming, while improving their confidence in the water and improving overall fitness in a fun & refreshing environment. From elementary schools to high schools, there are classes for every level of swimmer. All instructors are current or past competitive swimmers.

The Board of Education and Friends of Competitive Swimming coordinates the timing and logistics of getting the students from the school to the pool. Friends of Swim arranges for the pool time and swim instructors. Each school arranges student transportation and communication with parents. The COBRA Swim Club supplies qualified instructors, instructor materials and swim certificates.

COBRA and Friends of Competitive Swimming (FOS) in partnership work together to provide a quality educational program for public and private schools in the Brampton area. Participating schools; John Knox Christian School, Bishop Francis Allen Catholic School, Morton Way Public School, Ridgeview Public School, Northwood Public School.
