Competitive Swimming Experience

I have always enjoyed swimming, and I was inspired to join the swim team when I was ten.  I am a competitive swimmer with the Carleton Place Water Dragons Swim Team. I have participated in the Easter Ontario Regional Championships every year.  I continue to love swimming every day, and hope to share my passion for this sport with other athletes.

Coaching Swimming

My passion for swimming inspired me to become a swim coach.  I started as a volunteer with the CPWD swim team, and enjoyed coaching so much I got my Swim Coach Certification. My goal as a coach is to consider the needs of each individual athlete and work with them to develop their swimming skills while having fun. As an athlete myself, and as a swimming and paddling coach, I have learned that children need to experience success to stay motivated and open to learning. Therefore, my lessons are focused on positive and constructive feedback. I encourage all my swimmers to try their best and be open to each lesson, while ensuring they are having fun so that they love to swim, look forward to the next practice, and stay motivated to learn. I look forward to the opportunity to coach your child.
