Welcome to the Carleton Place Water Dragons (CPWD) electronic registration platform.

We hope everyone has been staying safe. We are looking forward to getting back in the pool. Our intentation is to start training for the season on 27th September. For the start of the 2021/2022 season, current guidance from Swim Ontario suggests that COVID safety protocols will continue to exist in terms of health screening, physical distancing, and maximum number of swimmers per lane. The anticipation is that these will hopefully ease as the season progresses, and we would eventually see the return of some local or regional competitions and meets. Our desire as a club will be to start the 2021/2022 season by offering swim group programming for:

  1. Early morning weekday training slots, to accommodate a range of swimmer capabilities and needs and aligned in timings to permit participation for the more senior to intermediate school-aged or above swimmer groups;
  2. Early afternoon weekday training slots, aligned in timings to permit participation for the older school-aged swimmers;
  3. Later afternoon weekday training slots, aligned in timings to permit participation for younger school-aged and/or more junior swimmer participation; and
  4. A Saturday and Sunday training slot for various swimmer groups

Overall, we believe our goal as CPWD in rebuilding from COVID is to support getting swimmers back in the water for regular training routines. For school-aged swimmers, to offer a return to the important aspect of extracurricular and peer group activities, for both physical and mental fitness/health. For athletes involved in other sports, to offer the opportunity for swimming to help fill an aspect of any required cross training and complementary activities. For the more senior, master level or other type of swimmers, to offer the opportunity for a return to regular swimming fitness. Overall, we believe this season will need to start with a focus on rebuilding and an acknowledgement that our swim world is still several steps away from pre-COVID times for additional focus on higher performance competitions and swim meets.

This registration platform is part of a multi-step process and covers local CPWD registration steps. Once local CPWD regisitration steps are completed, the Registrar ([email protected]) will then provide further direction and guidance for additional required registration steps via the Swim Canada Registration, Tracking and Results (RTR) system. Additional details about swim group offerings, expectations, training schedule and fees are provided during the registration steps and/or on the cpwd.ca site.
