Junior Olympic Way (JOW)
Active Start for the beginner as well as learning the Fundamentals!

 

  • Age: 6 - 9 Years 

  • Program Focus: Swimmers who have completed Swim School 3 or an equivalent level.  Continue to build on fundamental skills.  Introduction to swim competitions in preparation for Cascade's Competitive Swim Program

  • Practices: 2 Trainig Practices per week (Monday/Wednesday OR Tuesday/Thursday)

  • Duration: Full year program with options to Start in January and April

  • Pools:  Brookfield Residential YMCA at Seton & Canyon Meadows Pool

  • Practice Length: 60 minutes each 

  • Meets: 9-10 Fundamentals (introductory) meets per season.  See below for more info.​

JOW Registration Information

 

  • Refer to JOW Registration for all dates, times and fees.
  • Fees do not include the cost of Swim Meets, Equipment or Team Gear.
  • Programs are not offered on Statutory Holidays.  Check registration for excluded dates.

  • Ensuring your swimmers skills are appropriate for the level you have registered for is critical to maintaining the quality of our programming and the success of your swimmer.  It is your responsibility at the time of registration to have properly assessed your swimmers abilities.  If your swimmer does not meet the minimum requirements we will not be able to keep them in the class.  We cannot guarantee the ability to move them to a more suitable program.  Unfortunately, we have experienced a significant increase in the number of enrollments without proper self assessment so we are no longer able to provide refunds to families who do not properly assess their children.  The assessments are clearly outlined on our website HERE.  If you have any questions prior to enrolling your child please contact us at [email protected]

  • Requests for registration moves without sufficient justification will be charged a $50 admin fee per move.  Additional change requests on are subject to $100-$150 fees per change.
  • We do not provide refunds after the first day of programming.  Withdrawals prior to the first day are subject to a $25 Administration fee
  • We are unable to provide credits, refunds or make-up opportunities for missed practices, including those due to illness or self-isolation requirements.

  • Bathing Suit (Team Suit Recommended)
  • Cascade Cap - included in Registration Fee to be handed out first week of programming
  • Goggles
  • Swimming Fins (FINIS fins preferred - colour coded by size)

Swim Meets

Junior Olympic Way will have "Fundamentals" level meets throughout the swim year (roughly one meet every month). Meets will be posted in the events section of the web site once they are available to register your swimmer.  You will be sent an email invitation for the meet which will prompt you to log in to your account and sign up for the meet.  Swim meets will range in cost from $35-$50 per meet and are in addition to your regular fees with Cascade.
