Swim Fit
Skill Building & Fitness for Youth

 

  • Age: 10-12* years old
  • *Swimmers need to be 11 years-old when registering
  • Program Focus:
    • Directed towards the capable swimmer looking for improved fitness and stroke technique. 
    • Focus on instruction in all 4 competitive strokes: Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke, and Butterfly
    • Designed as a stepping stone into the competitive program, OR for overall fitness and improved swimming. ​

  • Pools: Brookfield Residential YMCA at Seton &  Canyon Meadows Pool 

  • Practices: 3 x 60 minute practice per week

  • Meets: Optional Participation in a Swim Meet - details below

 

Swim Fit Registration Information

 

  • Refer to Swim Fit Registration for all dates, times and fees.
  • Programs are not offered on Statutory Holidays.  Check registration for excluded dates.
  • Registration Changes: There is a $50 fee for the 1st group change requested within 72 hours of the first day of programming.  Additional change requests on are subject to $100-$150 fees per change.
  • We do not provide refunds after the first day of programming.  Withdrawals prior to the first day are subject to a $25 Administration fee
  • We are unable to provide credits, refunds or make-up opportunities for missed practices, including those due to illness or self-isolation requirements.

 

Equipment Requirements

  • Bathing Suit (Team Suit Recommended)
  • Cascade Cap - included in Registration Fee to be handed out first week of programming
  • Goggles
  • Swimming Fins (FINIS fins preferred - colour coded by size) ONLY for SS2 and SS3

Swim Meets

Swim Fit will have the option of participating in "Fundamentals" level  swim meets throughout the 11 week session. Meets will be posted in the Events section of the web site once they are available to register your swimmer.  You will be sent an email invitation for the meet which will prompt you to log in to your account and sign up for the meet.  Swim meets will range in cost from $35-$50 per meet and are in addition to your regular fees with Cascade.
