Swim School 1, 2 & 3
Active Start for the beginner!

Swim School targets 4-8 year-old swimmers and runs in three separate sessions that start in September, January* and April*.

Swim School 1: Ages 4-6

Swim School 2: Ages 4-7

Swim School 3: Ages 4-8

Each Swim School level builds swimmers' skills through progressions and lots of practice! Our focus is on developing proper swimming technique, preparing swimmers to enter our Competitive programs.

Swimmers entering Swim School 1 must:

  • be a minimum of 4 years of age,
  • be comfortable sumberging under water
  • be able to float on their front and back
  • be comfortable in the water with a coach - due to current facility COVID-19 restrictions, spectators will be limited to ONE parent per swimmer for Canyon Meadows programs. Parents will not be permitted in the viewing area at the Seton YMCA, but will be permitted to use the library and cafe areas, or fitness areas (please refer to the Seton YMCA's facility use information). For more detailed information on spectators and locker room access, please refer to our COVID-19 Resources page.

Swimmers will be placed in small groups with other swimmers approximately their own age and ability. New swimmers must attend a Rookie Camp Assessment prior to registering*, where our Coaching team will be able to determine which of our program levels is the best fit for your swimmer.

SPRING 2021 Update: We are awaiting further easing of restrictions that will allow for a return of our Swim School programs.

In-person Rookie Camps will not be held for the upcoming session of Swim School. Please click here for our Parent Assessment Tool to determine which of our program levels your swimmer should enter.
