Family Participation Program (FPP)

(PDF Format)

Club Warriors is a volunteer based, non-profit organization. We are a club that relies on the involvement of our member families in all facets of the club’s activities. From the Board that governs all club activities, to the dedicated parents volunteering at Club events and as Officials at swim meets. Committed member volunteers are an integral part of our culture and the foundation of our success.

The Family Participation Program (FPP) is a comprehensive volunteer program similar to programs run by most other swim clubs in the province. It is designed to encourage parents to take an active role in volunteering with CW. The FPP is based on a point system for Officiating and Volunteering throughout the swimming season.

The program is intended to ensure CW has an adequate number of volunteers for various activities throughout the season and more importantly to meet Swim Ontario’s requirements for the number of certified officials necessary for CW to run sanctioned meets.

Running sanctioned meets elevates the Club’s profile, and potentially allows us to offset swimmer training fees, so the time invested in becoming an official does have benefits. Almost all meets that we attend hosted by other clubs also require both junior and senior level officials from other participating clubs to be able to run. We all need to do our part to keep this sport alive for our swimmers.

Family Participation Requirements for the 2022-23 Season

Each family with a competitive swimmer(s) registered will be expected to participate in volunteer activities. It is the responsibility of the family to ensure they have reached and recorded their minimum points for the season. The requirements are on a “per family” basis, regardless of the number of swimmers registered with CW. In multiple swimmer families, point requirement is determined based on the highest level swimmer. (For example: a family with three swimmers, one in Novice 1, one in AG 2 and one in Elite is required to reach 10 points. A family with two swimmers, one in Intro and one in Intermediate needs to achieve 6 points.)

The Family Participation Deposit

CW will collect a set FPP fee from all competitive swim families at the start of the season. For families that join at a later point in the year, the deposit and FPP point requirement will be prorated. The deposit amount is tiered and based on the level of the highest placed swimmer in the family. Final ‘FPP count’ will occur during the final week of training for your swim group. The FPP FEE will be applied to member accounts with the FIRST MONTH training fees. Once a family has completed their FPP requirement, the fee will be reimbursed as soon as possible. Please be patient as this may take a few weeks. NB: FPP Points are not transferable between families and excess points cannot be carried over to future seasons.
