Coaches and Directors
My name is Norah and I am a NCCP Level 1 Coach with a competitive swimming background (Grande Prairie Piranhas, Grande Prairie Regional College Wolves, University of Lethbridge Pronghorns). Also, I swam and helped coach at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and then moved back to Canada and coached at the University of Alberta while finishing my Master’s Degree. I had the privilege of helping the coaching staff at UNLV and we helped send three swimmers to the Beijing Olympics in 2008. I love to coach and see swimmers find their power in the water.
Back in 2006, I earned a badge for completing a 5m swim which, at the time, I thought was a big deal. Nine years later, in 2015, I completed a 5000m swim. From this, I hope to inspire the Novice swimmers because I know that anyone is capable of becoming a great swimmer. I have swum competitively for seven years before I decided to start volunteering my time as an in-water assistant. I loved it so much that I decided to take the training to become an actual coach. Now, I have been coaching with Inconnu, and the former club Stingrays, for two and a half years. I always aim to teach the basics of swimming while still making sure the kids have a good time with the club.
