We are pleased to announce that Coach Steph has been hired to lead the Intro Groups. She has already begun coaching the Intros and we are thrilled to have Coach Steph take on this role. Congratulations! 

Storing winter coats and boots at the pool

With the cold weather upon us, please know that Swimmers will be provided with a hook and boot tray at their on-deck waiting area where they can safely store their outerwear, along with their other belongings.

Santa is coming this weekend!

The Georgetown Santa Claus Parade is November 21 at Trafalgar Sports Park. To help ensure the best possible experience and to reduce traffic backups, visitors are requested to view the parade during a predetermined time based on your LAST NAME: A-G: 5-6pm, H-M: 6-7pm, N-T: 7-8pm, and U-Z: 8-9pm.

Chief Timekeeper Clinic next Wed Nov 25
The Club is hosting a Chief Timer clinic next Wednesday, November 25.This clinic will provide you with an enhanced understanding of the role and rules of the Chief Timekeeper. This session qualifies for volunteer hours. Sign up by visiting the Club’s events page

Head-to-Head Stroke and Resilience series

In partnership with Speedo, and Swimming Canada Head to Head is running a 7 week virtual stroke and resilience mentorship program that is open to competitive swimmers of ALL AGES and ABILITIES! Registration closes November 28 - visit the Head-to-Head event page to register.

HHBF Buy, Sell, and Swap

Have swim gear that your swimmer may have outgrown before it was used? Looking for some gear on the cheap? Visit the HHBF Buy, Sell and Swap Facebook page to post gently used swim equipment you want to pass on/sell and to view items.



Meat fundraiser results

Our first fundraising event is complete and wow - what a turnout! As a team we submitted orders worth $13,021, raising a total of $2,529 that will go toward fundraising commitments. Two random draws were held for everyone who submitted an order. The winner for the Carmichael’s orders is Colin Bouchard and the winner for the North Country Meat & Seafood orders is Olivia Wellings. Winners will get to choose a prize from a selection of HHBF swag. Congratulations! 

North Country Meat & Seafood order pickup Monday, Nov 23

North Country will be delivering orders to the GIP parking lot on Monday, November 23 at 6pm. This year, pickup will be organized as a drive-through. Pick up instructions will be emailed directly to those who placed an order.

December Poinsettia orders due Nov 27

Attached is the order information, including product details and care instructions, for our Poinsettia Fundraiser. 

  • The order deadline is November 27, with delivery on Saturday, December 12 at 10am

  • Email orders to to Janine Bouchard at [email protected]  

  • Make payment to HHBF by way of e-transfer to [email protected] password hhbfpayment. Please be sure to include Poinsettia and Swimmer Last Name in e-transfer memo.

Swim Ontario 50/50 Draw

Swimming Canada and Swim Ontario have partnered to launch a 50/50 fundraiser to assist swim clubs and support swimming in Ontario in response to the financial impacts of COVID-19.  

The fundraiser will run from November 16 to 30, 2020 with Early Bird prize draws on November 24 and 27. Purchase tickets at www.swimming.ca/5050. Participants must be 18 years of age to play.
