MiniFins - 2022/23

Long Term Athlete Development Stage: “Active Start” (level 1)
 
Prerequisites: 
-Gets into water independently 
-Puts face in water
-Assessment Required (no age restriction)
-Follows code of conduct
 
Group Goals: Building a passion and love for the sport of swimming. Working towards performing streamline glides, breath control (blowing bubbles), keep face in water while swimming, kicking independently, back float independently, turn back to front & front to back while swimming widths of the pool, jumping in from side, jumping off the blocks, climbing out of the pool, swim width of pool independently, diving for rings etc. Teaching the skills of competitive swimming, in a safe and fun environment.

Intro Blue & Intro White - 2022/23

Long Term Athlete Development Stage: “Fundamentals” (level 2)
 
Prerequisites:
-Assessment by Coaching Staff
-Follows code of conduct
 
Group Goals: Building a passion and love for the sport of swimming. Intro will strive to teach and improve strokes (back, breast, free, fly) and skills (turns, dives, kicking, pulling, breathing) as well as improving their training habits, (reading pace clocks, following sets, training in a group etc.) with the intention of preparing them for JR White.

Junior White - 2022/23

Long Term Athlete Development Stage: “Learn to Train” (level 3) 
 
Prerequisites:
-Assessment by Coaching Staff (LTAD, attitude, attendance, ability)
-Maintain minimum 60% attendance (3 out of 5 practices - including dryland)
-100IM and 200FR (key goal races)
-Follows code of conduct
 
Group Goals: Building a passion and love for the sport of swimming. Junior White will strive to improve fitness, technique of all 4 strokes as well as many racing skills. A big focus will also be placed on improving their training habits including introducing them to test sets, all with the intention of preparing them for Junior Blue.

Junior Blue - 2022/23

Long Term Athlete Development Stage: “Train to Train” (level 4)
 
Prerequisites: 
-Assessment by Coaching Staff (LTAD, attitude, attendance, ability) 
-Maintain 60% attendance (4 out of 7 practices - dryland included)
-200IM and 400FR (key goal races)
-Follows code of conduct
 
Group Goals: Building a passion and love for the sport of swimming. Junior Blue will strive to improve fitness, technique (strokes and skills) as well as improving their training habits and test set times, preparing them for the SNR White group. They will also strive to qualify and compete at regionals in the short course, long course and optional open water settings.

Senior White - 2022/23

Long Term Athlete Development Stage: “Train to Compete” (level 5)
 
Prerequisites: 
-Assessment by Coaching Staff (LTAD, attitude, attendance, ability) 
-Maintain minimum of 70% attendance (5 out of 7 practices - dryland included)
-400IM and 800FR (key goal races)
-Follows code of conduct
 
Group Goals: Building a passion and love for the sport of swimming. SNR White will strive to improve; fitness and technique (strokes and skills) as well as training test sets in order to qualify and compete at regionals and provincials in the short course, long course and optional open water settings.

Senior Blue - 2022/23

Long Term Athlete Development Stage: “Compete to Win” (level 6)
 
Prerequisites:
-Assessment by Coaching Staff (LTAD, attitude, attendance, ability) 
-Maintain minimum 80% attendance (9 out of 11 practices - dryland included)
-OYJ or OSC qualifying time
-Parent/Athlete/Coach meeting to discuss admission
-Follows code of conduct 
 
Group Goals: Maintaining a passion and love for the sport of swimming. SNR Blue will strive to improve; fitness and technique (strokes and skills) as well as training test sets in order to qualify and compete at higher level championship meets. We are preparing these athletes to swim at University on their Varsity TEAMS and have them return as Alumni swimmers to compete with HHBF at Provincials and Nationals.

Alumni - 2022/23

Long Term Athlete Development Stage: “Compete to Win” (level 6)
 
Prerequisites:
-Ontario Provincial Champs or Canadian Eastern Championship qualifying time
-Good standing with University and HHBF Squad
 
Group Goals: These athletes are returning from University and continuing their training with HHBF. They will train in the SNR Blue or SNR White group depending on space and availability. 
 
Training: Sept-Aug

Masters - 2022/23

Long Term Athlete Development Stage: “Fit for Life” (level 7)
 
Prerequisites:
-16 & over
-Open to learning and becoming more fit
-Follows code of conduct
 
Group Goals: These adult athletes will continue their development and work at building and maintaining their fitness. Whatever the goal, HHBF is here to support your swimming/training needs. Triathletes, first timers, multi-sport cross training or competitive swimmers are ALL welcome.
