HUMA COVID-19 Health and Safety Guidelines and Requirements

In addition to the guidelines set by The University of Alberta, HUMA has additional COVID-19 requirements that fall in line with ASSA and Swim Alberta..

** Given the ever changing landscape of COVID-19, requirements and guidelines are subject to change. Any and all COVID-19 requirements set forth by the UofA, HUMA, and all our governing bodies, are mandatory and will be strictly enforced.



1. Coaches are required to wear a mask at all times.

2. All swimmers, coaches, assistants, and COVID-19 Coordinator, MUST complete pre-screening checklist before ENTERING UofA property.

3. Only coaches, swimmers, assistants, and HUMA COVID-19 coordinator, are allowed in UofA facilities and/or West Pool.

4. Entering the Van Vilet Centre and the UofA West Pool will be described at a later date.

5. Equipment: As per the direction of their coach, swimmers will be responsible for bringing their own training aides i.e.. kickboard, pull buoys.

6. Hygiene and PPE: UofA has increased the frequency of their environmental cleaning and a full, deep clean is conducted every evening. Swimmers are strongly encouraged to bring their own hand sanitizer, extra mask, and any other PPE they require. HUMA, nor the UofA, are responsible in providing these items.

 7. Food and Drink: Eating is not allowed inside UofA buildings and pools. Please bring your own FULL water for practice; there is no water available at UofA.
