Mini-Marlins (10 & under)       Roster: MM (T/T)

September to December: $425 plus governing body fee

Weekly Swim Training:
Tue and Thu 4:00-4:45 pm at APAC - will move to 4-5 when facility protocols permit

Description: This Mini-Marlin program is designed to introduce the skills required for all four competitive strokes. Open to swimmers able to complete 25m on their front with "side" breathing, 25m of backstroke, be able to kick continuously on a kickboard, and be assessed without their parent's involvement. Skills introduced will be presented in a fun and interactive learning environment with a focus on the enjoyment of swimming. Choose either the Tue/Thu class or Wed/Sat.

Mini-Marlins (9-11)          Roster: MM+ 

September to December: $425 plus governing body fee

Weekly Swim Training
Tue and Thu 4:45-5:30 pm at APAC - will move to 5-6 when facility protocols permit

Description: Designed for swimmers 9-11 years old with a desire to train twice a week. Swimmers should be able to swim 50m on their front with "side" breathing, 50m backstroke, be able to kick continuously on a kickboard and be assessed without their parent's involvement. The emphasis will be on fun and fitness with an introduction to novice-level racing. 

 

Main Competitive Programs (Ages 8+)

Junior Development          Roster: JD 

September to December: $480 plus governing body fee

Weekly Swim Training: All swims at APAC Mon 4-5:30 pm, Wed 3:45-4:45 pm, Friday 4-5:30 pm 
Wednesday will move to 5-6 when facility protocols allow

Description: This program is designed for 13 & under athletes capable of swimming 100m on their front in less than 2:15, backstroke with flip turns, 100m of breaststroke, and kick continuously for 150m. If coming through our MM program they will be able to do 25m of butterfly. The focus will be on fun, fitness and stroke development with an introduction to local area racing.  

Junior 14 & under        Roster: J 

September to December: $950 plus a monthly Y Membership plus governing body fee

Weekly Swim Training: All swims at YMCA Mon, Wed, Fri 3:45-5:00 pm and Sat 7:00-8:10 am 

Description: Available for 14 & under swimmers capable of swimming a 400 free in under 7:30. The emphasis will be on continued competency over all 4 strokes with several racing opportunities both local and regional.  

Junior Performance          Roster: JP 

September to December: $1225 plus governing body fee

Weekly Swim Training: 5 swims a week all at Queens - see schedule for details

Description: Available to swimmers 12 & over who are capable of swimming 400 Free at the following speeds:
12 yrs old 6:00, 13 yrs old 6:15, 14 yrs old 6:30.

Swimmers at this level will have increased exposure to regional competitive opportunities and will be qualified for or working toward qualifying for Provincial Championships competitions.   

Senior Performance        Roster: SP 

September to December: $1450 plus governing body fee

Weekly Swim Training: 6 swims a week all at Queens - see schedule for details - adjusted when we are allowed

Description: Available to swimmers 13 & over, looking to swim 5 or 6 times a week and are capable of meeting a 400m training standard of:
Male 13 yrs old 5:00, 14 ys old 5:05, 15+ 5:10
Female 13yrs old 5:10, 14 yrs old 5:15, 15+ 5:20

Organized strength training, speed work, and anaerobic training are introduced at this level. Swimmers will have increased exposure to regional and provincial competitions.  

Senior Performance  Varsity      Roster: SPV 

September to December: $1450 plus governing body fee

Weekly Swim Training: 6 swims a week all at Queens - see schedule for details - adjusted when we are allowed

Description: 14 and over swimmers who have met the SP standards and have achieved 500 FINA points in an Olympic event. With increasingly tailored stroke and distance programming and when protocols permit they will have opportunities to train with the Queen's Varsity team for more workouts. These swimmers are at the highest competitive levels with opportunities to race at regional, provincial and national levels.
