2019 Canadian Junior Swimming Championships Calgary, July 24-29, 2019 The Kamloops Classic Swim Club had an outstanding week of racing at the 2019 Canadian Junior Swimming Championships, July 24-29, 2019. More than 550 athletes from 135 clubs participated at the Repsol Sports Centre in Calgary, with the Classic’s finishing 34th overall. Along with the Canadian swimmers, athletes from the US, Ireland and Bermuda. also competed. 2019 Speedo Far Western Swimming Championships, July 25-28, 2018, San Francisco, California The Kamloops Classics’ Swim Club had 6 swimmers compete at the Speedo Far Western Swimming Championships July 25-28,2019. The meet hosted 1422 swimmers from 105 teams from the US, Canada, Columbia and the Mexican National Age Group Team. The Classic’s had 4 of their 6 swimmers achieve top 10 placing’s at the meet. LAC ST-JEAN, QC---Ryley McRae of the Thompson Rivers University WolfPack and Kamloops Classics swim teams finished in the top 20 of his final International Open Water swim season. McRae was 17th at the FINA Marathon Swim World Series held at Lac St. Jean, Quebec.  His time was two hours, four minutes and 22 seconds which was 11 minutes behind the winner Kristof Rasovszky of Hungary. 2019 30th Universiade FISU Games July 2 -14, 2019 Kamloops had two swimmers representing Canada at the 2019 Universiade in Naples Italy. The swimming portion of the games were hosted July 4th to the 10th, where Megan Dalke competed in the 400 IM with a 14th place finish, 200 Fly with a 10th place finish and the 800 Freestyle with a 10th place finish. 2019 Swim BC Provincial Swimming Championship July 4 – 7, 2019 The Kamloops Classic Swim Team had a very successful Provincial Swimming Championships over the weekend.  The meet saw 584 swimmers from 40 clubs in BC and the Yukon compete over the weekend. The Kamloops Classic Swim Club took 9 swimmers down to the Swim BC Tier I Provincial Championships June 22-24 in Kelowna. The team placed 15th Overall in Combined Team Scoring out of 38 teams that competed. Kamloops swimmers performed very well within a very deep provincial field. Sienna Angove led the way with 3 individual medals in the 11-12 Girls Category (Gold 100m Breaststroke, Gold 200m Breaststroke, Silver 400m IM). 2019 TYR Pro Swim Series #5 Fresno California June 12 -15, 2019 DAY1 Kamloops swimmer Megan Dalke is competing with the UBC/Vancouver High Performance Swim Center at the 5th meet in the 2019 TYR Pro Swim Series in Fresno California this week.
