2019 Speedo Far Western Swimming Championships,
July 25-28, 2018,

San Francisco, California


The Kamloops Classics’ Swim Club had 6 swimmers compete at the Speedo Far Western Swimming Championships July 25-28,2019. The meet hosted 1422 swimmers from 105 teams from the US, Canada, Columbia and the Mexican National Age Group Team.

The Classic’s had 4 of their 6 swimmers achieve top 10 placing’s at the meet. Overall the Classics’ placed 26th in the team championships. The Classic’s had a total of  top 3 finishes winning 3 Bronze medals.

Sienna Angove in the 11-12-year-old girls won 2 Bronze Medals in the 200 Freestyle and 400 IM. Angove was also 7th in the 100 Breaststroke, 10th in the 200 IM, 13th in the 200 Back.

Max Angove in the 13-14-year-old boys age group was 5th in the 1500 Freestyle.  6th in the 800 Freestyle. 20th in the 400 Freestyle, 23rd in the 100 Freestyle, 40th in the 200 IM, 31st in the 200 Back  and 29th in the 400 IM and

Jake Gysel in the 13-14 year old boys age group was 8th in the 100 Breaststroke,13th in the 200 Breaststroke, 22nd in the 100 Freestyle, 31st in the 50 Freestyle and 33rd in the 200 IM.

Sarah Koopmans in the 15-16-year-old girls age group won a Bronze Medal in the 100 Fly , 5th in the 400 IM and 200 Freestyle, 10th  in the 200 IM, 14th in the 100 Breaststroke and 16th in the 50 Freestyle.

Cate Wharton in the 15-16-year-old girls age group was 65th in the 100 freestyle, 29thin the 100 Breaststroke, 49th in the 200 Freestyle and 27th in the 200 Breststroke.

Michael Dagasso on the 15-16-year-old boys was 11th in the 1500 Freestyle, 12th in the 800 Freestyle, 20th in the 100 Freestyle, 21st in the 200 Freestyle, 32nd in the 400 Freestyle and 50th in the 100 Fly.
