2021 Swim BC Virtual Winter Divisional Provincial Swimming Championship, Feb 5 to March 7, 2021

The Kamloops Classic Swim Team had a very successful Virtual Divisional Swimming Championships over the past month.  The virtual meet saw 202 swimmers from 12 clubs in  BC Interior and Northern Regions.

  •  The Classic ‘s had an outstanding meet with 16 of 19 swimmers making top three finishes.  The Classic's had a total of 59 top 3 finishes in the event (22 Gold, 20 Silver and 17 Bronze).

Leading the Classics were:

Parker Cameron (15) In the 15- 17 Age Group had eight first place finishes and one 3rd place.

Shale Maurice (12) In the 11- 12 Age Group had four first place finishes and two second place finishes.

Julian Cinel (11) In the 11- 12 Age Group had two first place finishes, two second place and two third place finishes.

 

Additional first place finishes came from the following swimmers in the following events:

  • 11- 12 Age Group; Haolin Li (12) 200 Fly, Ryder Crichton (12) 400 IM.
  • 13 & 14 Age Group Aria Chase (14) 50 Free.
  • 15 – 17 Age Group M, Kate McCullagh (15) 800 Free
  • 18 & Over Age Group Trevor Laupland (18) 200 Free and Michael Dagasso (18) 50 Free.

 

Top 3 placing include the following swimmers:

 

  • 11- 12 Age Group; Ryder Crichton (12)  was second in the 50 & 200 Fly events and Thomas Heer third in the 200 Breaststroke. 
  • 13 & 14 Age Group; Aria Chase (14) was third in the 100 & 200 Freestyles, Sarah Tulloch (14) was second in the 50 Fly & 400 IM and Max Prelypchan (14) was second in the 50 & 100 Backstrokes and third in the 200 Back and 400 IM.
  • 15 – 17 Age Group; Kate McCullagh (15) was second in the 200 Freestyle , third in the 400 Free and 400 IM, Meredith Franks was third in the 50 Fly and Peter Tulk was third in the 1500 Freestyle.
  • 18 & Over Age Group; Trevor Laupland (18) was second in the 200 & 400 IM’s, 50 & 200 Breaststrokes, 100 & 800 Freestyles and third in the 400 Freestyle and Michael Dagasso (18) was second in the 400 & 1500 Freestyles and third in the 800 Free and 400 IM.

Congratulations to all our swimmers participating in "virtual" meets this Spring! Times show that all our family's efforts to get swimmers to training sessions and their focus during practice is paying off!
