2021 Canadian Olympic Swimming Trials The Kamloops Classic Swim Team had one swimmer, Sela Wist attend the 2021 Canadian Olympic Swimming Trials in Toronto June 19th to 23rd. This was the clubs first swim meet of the year. This meet was Sela’s first time attending a Senior National Swimming Championships which saw her swim two lifetime best times out of the four events she competed in. Placings were as follows: 16th in the 50 & 100 Freestyle events, 17th in the 100 Backstroke and 18th in the 100 Butterfly.

NOVICE The novice swimmer of the month is Hannah. Hannah has been working hard on her streamlines and flip turns and it shows! Hannah always comes to practice with a positive attitude ready to swim and have fun. JUNIOR 1 April swimmer of the month for Junior 1 is Luca M. Luca has done an outstanding job this past month. We have working on his breast stroke every week to be able to swim a great 200 IM race on race day. Luca has also had perfect attendance for April....

NOVICE The Novice swimmer of the month is William. Willam always brings lots of energy to practice, occasionally singing during kick sets. William has consistently achieved best times during Friday night racing and always enthusiastically cheers on team mates. Membership Bulletin: Creation of New KCS Senior 1 Training Group After several meetings discussing challenges, constraints and potential solutions, the KCS Board of Directors recently ratified the creation of a new Senior training group effective April 1, to increase training space and improve retention of older KCS swimmers (14-18yrs). 2021 Swim BC Virtual Winter Divisional Provincial Swimming Championship, Feb 5 to March 7, 2021 The Kamloops Classic Swim Team had a very successful Virtual Divisional Swimming Championships over the past month. The virtual meet saw 202 swimmers from 12 clubs in BC Interior and Northern Regions. The Classic ‘s had an outstanding meet with 16 of 19 swimmers making top three finishes.
