Trevor Laupland ~ McMaster University Fall 2020
Trevor, a multi-sport athlete who also competes in triathlon, has chosen to swim for the Marauders at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. A graduate of South Kamloops Secondary, Trevor will pursue an Engineering degree beginning this Fall. He hopes to continue his triathlon training.   


 


Sarah Koopmans ~ University of Nevada at Las Vegas Fall 2020
A graduate of South Kamloops Secondary, Sarah was recuited by UNLV to be part of the strong NCAA Div 1 Rebels team. Sarah has received a near full-ride athletic scholarship and hopes to study Sociology in the Fall. Recruiting announcement


 


Becky Dean ~ McGill University Fall 2020
Originally from Saskatchewan, Becky Dean joined the Classics for her final year of high school. Becky has chosen to swim for the McGill Redmen while pursuing her interest in English Literature.   

 

 


Elise Laupland ~ Queen's University Fall 2018
Elise chose to attend Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario in 2019, where she swims for the Queen's Gaels. A graduate of South Kamloops Secondary, Elise is working towards a degree in Geology.

 

 


Tanner Douglas ~ Thompson Rivers University 
Fall 2018

Tanner has signed with Thompson Rivers University Wolfpack and will be pusuing his Science degree while swimming in the U-Sport Conference. Tanner graduated from Sahali Secondary School.  Spotlight



 

Emily Dagasso ~ Thompson Rivers University Fall 2018
Emily, a St. Ann's Academy graduate, chose to continue her swimming with the Wolfpack while attending Thompson Rivers University. Emily is pursuing a Bachelor of Science and swims in the  U-Sport Conference .

 

 


Ryley McRae ~ Thompson Rivers University Fall 2018
Ryley, a member of the Canadian Junior National Team, chose to continue his swimming with Coach Brad Dalke while attending Thompson Rivers University. Ryley, a graduate of Sahali Secondary,  is pursuing Engineering and competes in the U-Sport Conference. Riley, now in 3rd year has transferred to UBC to finish his Engineering degree and will continue to train with the UBC Thunderbirds. 

 



Eloise Ladyman ~ University of Waterloo Fall 2018
A graduate of South Kamloops Secondary, Eloise has chosen to continue her swimming while pursuing a Geological Engineering degree at University of Waterloo. Eloise began swimming for the Warriors in the fall of 2018. BIO

A graduate of Westsyde Secondary, Ethan chose to attend the University of Victoria in 2017, where he swims for the UVic Vikes and is working towards his degree in Chemistry. UVIC

Gabrielle chose to continue her swimming with Coach Brad Dalke while attending Thompson Rivers University. Gabby, a St. Ann's Academy graduate, is pursuing a Major in Math, with a minor in Computer Sciences, and will swim in the U-Sport Conference. Spotlight 

 

 

Megan Dalke ~ University of British Columbia Fall 2016
Megan, Kamloops' 2017 Athlete of the Year,  accepted an athletic scholarship to swim for the UBC Thunderbirds in Vancouver. This Sahali Secondary graduate is studying Education while pursuing her dreams in the pool with this Canadian powerhouse. BIO  Alumni Spotlight

 

 

Colin Gilbert ~ University of Denver Fall 2016
Colin, Kamloops' 2014 & 2017 Male Athlete of the Year, accepted an athletic scholarship to swim for the Division 1 powerhouse Summit League champions, University of Denver Pioneers. In spring of 2020, Colin graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Finance and is currently pursuing employment in the Denver area. BIO 

 

 

Makena Sutherland ~ New Mexico State University Fall 2016
Makena chose to accept an athletic scholarship to swim for New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, NM. The NCAA Div 1, Aggies swim in the Western Athletic Conference. Makena finished her NCAA eligibility in the spring of 2019 and is now in her last semester of completing her Mechanical Engineering degree. BIO Spotlight
 


 

Kieran Waterous ~ University of Waterloo Fall 2016
Kieran has chosen to continue his swimming while pursuing an Engineering degree at University of Waterloo. He was the recipient of numerous academic scholarships and will begin swimming for the Warriors beginning fall of 2016. BIO
 

 

 

 

Greg Petersen ~ Thompson Rivers University Fall 2015
A former Kamloops Classics breaststroker, Greg returned to swimming after a three year hiatus from the competitive pool. Greg chased new challenges in the pool while finishing his computer sciences degree at Thompson Rivers University during the 2015/16 season. He currently works as a software developer for a Vancouver software company. 



 


Taylor Carmichael ~ Thompson Rivers University Fall 2015
Developed by both Kamloops Classic Swimming and Merritt Otters Summer Swim Club, Taylor chose to continue her swimming career with Wolfpack swimming while attending Thompson Rivers University. She has continued to work for KCS as our SwimSkil Lesson Coordinator while completing her Science degree and also works TRU World Study Abroad program.  
 

 


Meaghan Frenks ~ Simon Fraser University Fall 2014
A graduate of South Kamloops Secondary, Meaghan was recruited on athletic scholarship by the sole Canadian member of the NCAA, Division II, Simon Fraser University in 2014. Meaghan has recently graduated with her Bachelor of Arts from SFU and Bachelor of Education from UBC.  Team Bio


 


Jagdeesh Uppal ~ Thompson Rivers University Fall 2014
Jagdeesh was the first signed recruit of the newly created TRU Wolfpack Swimming in Kamloops. He completed his Bachelor of Science, while competing in the CIS, then moved to complete higher education at the University of Alberta. While at UofA Jagdeesh was awarded the 2020 NSERC Alexander Graham Bell Graduate Scholarship and the Presidents Doctoral Prize of Distinction, among many other awards. Jagdeesh has recently been accepted to the School of Medicine at Queens University and will begin his studies in the Fall of 2020. Dylana Kneeshaw (Milobar) ~ California State University at Bakersfield Fall 2013
A graduate of Valleyview Secondary, Dylana was recruited on athletic scholarship the NCAA Div 1 Cal State University at Bakersfield and competes for the Roadrunners in the Western Athletic Conference. She was named 2016 WAC Champion in the 200 Breast as well as Academic All-Scholar.  Dylana completed her Bachelor degree in Communications in 2018 and is currently working for CFJC TV in Kamloops. 



 


Cynthia Pfeiffer ~ Acadia University Fall 2012

This former Kamloops Classics swimmer, also developed by the Revelstoke Aquaducks, swam 4 years of her eligibility for Acadia University in Nova Scotia in 2012 after a year at University of Calgary. She completed a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Kinesiology while in Nova Scotia and then continued on to complete a Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy from University of Alberta. Cynthia now  works as an Occupational Therapist in Edmonton.

Davis Wuolle ~ University of British Columbia Fall 2008
Davis swam for the UBC Thunderbirds in 2008-2010. During his time at UBC he trained under well-known breaststroke coach Jozef Nagy, alongside Olympians Annamay Pierse, Martha McCabe and Brent Hayden. Davis is also a co-founder of www.swimswam.com.




Gia Bogetti ~ Simon Fraser University Fall 2007
Gia was recruited by Simon Fraser University Clan in 2007. A repeat NAIA All-American and two-time National Champion, Gia also swam on two NAIA record-breaking relays in her first and final year. Gia recently completed her Law degree at UBC and is now a practicing lawyer in Kamloops. 


 

Erin Gammel ~ University of Calgary Fall 2002
Erin was awarded an athletic scholarship to the University of Calgary Dinos in 2002. In 2003-2004 and 2006-2007 she was awarded CIS Female Swimmer of the Year honours. Erin is now a high school teacher residing in Kamloops.

Caitlin Meredith ~ University of British Columbia Fall 2002
Caitlin was recruited by the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds in 2002.She was awarded an athletic scholarship and was named CIS Rookie of the Year in 2002-2003 and All-Canadian in 2003-2004. Caitlin graduated from UBC in 2013 with her Doctor of Dental Medicine and was awarded the 
Madaisky & Company Dentistry Award, the Monarch Pediatric Dental Centre Award and the Quintessence Award for Clinical Achievement in Periodontics. Caitlin is currently practicing dentistry in Skidegate on Haida Gwaii. 
 

 

Devon Benoit ~ University of British Columbia Fall 1999
Coached by Ken McKinnon, Devon was a breaststroke specialist. She continued on to swim for the UBC Thunderbirds after graduation. Devon has recently returned to Kamloops with her family. 

 

 

 

Janice Berry ~ University of North Dakota Fall 1997
This former Kamloops Classics swimmer was recruited by the University of North Dakota "Fighting Sioux" in 2002 and was named an NCAA Division II All-American. Janice graduated with a BPE degree in Facility Management.
 

 

 

Steven Meredith ~ University of British Columbia Fall 1997
Steven chose to swim for the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds in the Fall of '97. Dr. Meredith is now a Canadian Board Certified Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon living in Kamloops with his family. His son is now a member of Kamloops Classic Swimming. 

 

 

 

Katherine Owens ~ University of Hawaii Fall 1992
Katherine began her swimming career with Kamloops Classic Swimming. She was a finalist at the 1992 Winter Nationals, and was awarded a swim scholarship to the Division I, University of Hawaii.
