2019 Western Canadian Swimming Championships

Edmonton, Alta

April 11-14, 2019

The Kamloops Classic has 3 swimmers competing at the 2019 Western Canadian Swimming Championship in Edmonton Alberta. Kamloops placed 30th  out of the 70 team 500 swimmer competition. One of the highlights from the meets was all 3 Kamloops swimmers qualified out of the morning prelims to swim in the evening finals. The Kamloops swimmers placing were as follows: Diego Paz winning a Silver Medal in the 16 to 14 Yr Old Boys age group 1500 Freestyle while taking 12 seconds off his best time. He placed 7th in the 400 IM and 200 Fly,  6th in the consolation final of the 400 Freestyle and 200 IM. Paz also placed 12th in the 800 Freestyle and 22nd in the 200 Breaststroke.  Haley Rowden in the 15 – 13 Yr old Girls age group placed 4th in the consolation final of the 200 Breaststroke and 400 IM. 24th in the 100 Breaststroke, 33rd in the 50 Breaststroke and 29 in the 200 IM. Keana Smart in the 16 & Over Girls age group placed 5th in the 50 Backstroke, 3rd in the consolation final of the 200 Backstroke and 11th  in the 1500 Freestyle.
