KISU Administrator

“Volunteers don’t get paid, not because they’re worthless, but because they’re priceless.”

-Sherry Anderson

KISU Triple Pentathlon and Jamboree:

A huge thank you to all the volunteers who came out this weekend to make our hoe meet such a success!  We could not do it without you!

There are several event deadlines fast approaching!  Some of them are today! Please visit the website and sign up your swimmer for events they wish to attend.

Kamloops Team Travel: Early sign-up deadline TODAY

KISU is encouraging all swimmers who qualify for the Kamloops Ice Classic to participate in Team Travel!  Team Travel is a great experience for ALL swimmers.  It is a great way for kids to get to know each other better, practice independence (while under the care of a chaperone and coaches) and come together as a TEAM.  Once experienced, it speaks for itself!

Cost will be determined once we know numbers (approx $275 per swimmer). Includes travel, accommodation, food and fun!   We will be travelling via bus, leaving on Thursday after school and returning Sunday after the meet.  Meals are provided (chaperones will be cooking up a frenzy!), and we will be staying at a hotel-The Best Western.

Swimmers in grade 5 or younger will need to travel and bunk with a parent.

Swimmers going on "full" team travel (ie: travel both directions, and all nights with the team) will have priority.  Swimmers who are wanting to travel one way and stay only one or two nights will be accommodated whenever possible.

PLEASE SIGN UP NO LATER THAN Wednesday, Oct. 20 - WE NEED TO KNOW OUR NUMBERS for the hotel and bus.

Vernon Fall Invitational: Nov 5th -7th Sign up deadline TODAY

KISU will not be attending the Friday of the Vernon Meet.  They are limiting the number of swimmers for the 800 (only top 16), so we are going to run our own sanctioned time trials here during practice on the Friday of the meet.

Vernon Jamboree: Nov 7th Sign up deadline-TODAY

This is the second regional jamboree of the season.  Jamborees are for novice swimmers who have not yet gone faster than 4 minutes for their 200IM.  It is considered a developmental meet, and lasts only 4 hours.

Academy Field Testing: Oct 23rd

Field Testing for Academy swimmers is something we do in the fall and again in the spring.

They are dryland tests & measurements for athlete development.

Saturday, Oct. 23, 12-3pm at the Apple Bowl, in Kelowna.  Cost is $5.

KISU Face mask order: Deadline Oct 30th

KISU is ordering Face Masks. These would make great stocking stuffers!

Cost is $12.

New to KISU? Below are a few tips on event sign up and volunteer commitment:

All of our meets, time trials, social events, volunteer commitment etc, require for you to sign up on the website.  Once you have logged into your account all upcoming events can be viewed from the home screen. To view the description of the event, click on the event title on the left side of the screen.  To commit your swimmer to the event, click on the pink ‘edit commitment’ tab. From there you will be able to declare one or all of your swimmers to either attend or decline the event.  This screen will also have additional instructions such as “please indicate the total number in your family to attend” for family events.  This can be done under a single swimmer.  To sign up as a volunteer for one of our meets click on the ‘job sign up’ tab under the event.  From there you will be able to see which jobs are available for which time slots. Pick you prefer slot and click ‘sign up’ at the bottom of the screen.
