The Killarney Swim Club was in action last weekend at the CASC Speed Meet and MAVS Jack Frost Competitions. The MAVS meet was held at Seton YMCA with 45 KSC swimmers attending. The team did phenomenal by posting 375 Personal Best Times! Sixty-Six Medals were won including 26 Gold! The Killarney Swim Club kicked off the season last weekend with competitions in Lethbridge and Canmore. The Performance, Senior, and Intermediate groups turned up the waters at U of L’s Max Bell Aquatic Center. Thirty-two swimmers represented KSC in Lethbridge. They turned in a great performance blasting out 167 personal best times, 1 Club Records, and 67 medals including 30 event wins! Alan Piatek led the way going undefeated in each of his 8 races. Jasper Ngo and Matea Gigovic both posted event medals in each of their 8 races....

The Sprockets competed in their first meet of the season last Sunday October 16th at MNP Centre. The Meet was a great success with 98 Sprockets attending! Sprockets achieved 124 best times for returning swimmers and many swimmers swam their first ever meet. We are amazed at their progress in such a short time and are looking forward to our next meet November 12th at Foothills Pool. Huge thanks to our volunteers and officials for running an excellent event!

Last weekend the Killarney Swim Club was in action at the UCSC Western Finale and EKI meets. At the UCSC meet, Ranumi Eashwarage set the pace with a New Alberta Provincial Record in the 12-Year-Old 50m Fly! She clocked at time of 28.84, the second fastest time in the country all time. Last weekend, the Alberta Summer Festival South took place at the Medicine Hat Family Leisure Center. The meet attracted the best 10 & Under Girls and 11 & Under boys from the region. Killarney was represented by 14 swimmers: Keelin Booth, Sophie Holowaychuk, Ismail Ibatullin, Keaton Kellow, Karsyn Kidd, Callum Longworth, Kade Morgan, Bauman Mori, Erin Oz, Posie Payette, Megan Perry, Siena Stangherlin, Michael Woo, and Lincoln Yee. Last weekend the Killarney Swim Club dove into competition in Vancouver, for the Mel Zajac International and here in Calgary, for the Cascade Swim International. At the UBC Aquatic Center, Killarney was represented by 20 swimmers. The swim meet attracted the Canadian and American Junior National Teams and was over 700 swimmers deep. On May 14 & 15th the Alberta Marlin Aquatic Club (AMAC) hosted its annual Long Course Invitational. Killarney Swim Club sent a contingent of 30 swimmers to Medicine Hat for this competition. Killarney swimmers achieved 126 personal best times, 2 club records, and picked up 27 medals (8 Gold) on route to a successful weekend. Leading the way was 12-year-old Ranumi Eashwarage. Fifteen members of the Killarney Swim Club competed at the Canadian Western Swimming Championships April 21-24th in Edmonton. The team was represented by: Natalia Berezowsky, Paul Dardis, Molly Fleming, Daniel Ford, Rianne Gamayo, Matea Gigovic, Brandon Hachey, Matthew MacDonald, Kate MacLean, Balazs Moldovan, Lauren Porter, Nyla Smith, Katie Thompson, Georgia Wise, and Jaxon Wolff The team had an excellent competition. The Killarney Swim Club made a splash at the Commonwealth Games Pool in Victoria BC for the World Trials. The competition attracted the best athletes from across Canada. The meet also served as the Junior Pan Pac Trials. Killarney was represented by 4 swimmers. Emma Mitchell, Matthew MacDonald, Jaxson Wolff, and Paul Dardis.
