Over the last 2 weekends the Killarney Swim Club has been back in action racing for the first time since February 2020.  Swimmers were excited to get off the blocks at the Killarney Summer Splash, Cascade Mountain Meet, and the Nose Creek Invite.

On Saturday July 17th, the KSC hosted the Summer Splash.  This was an in-house competition held at the Seaton YMCA.  69 swimmers participated in this event.  The team crushed it with 291 best times!  Essentially every swim was a personal best.  Paul Dardis broke 3 club records in the 50 free, 100 free, and 200 free.  It was great having parents and grandparents spectating!

On Sunday July 18th, the team kept on rolling at the CASC Mountain Meet held at Repsol.  This was a Long Course heats and finals competition.  The team was represented by 20 swimmers.  70 best times were posted, and 4 more club records were established.  Kate MacLean broke the 50 fly.  Balazs Moldovan broke the 50 free record and held it for 1 minute.  In the very next heat Paul Dardis broke Balazs club record!  Dardis also set a club record in the 200 free.  The team had 5 top 3 finishes from Jaxon Wolff, Lauren Porter, Matea Gigovic, and Paul Dardis.

Last weekend Killarney was lighting it up at the NCSA Invite.  31 swimmers took part in this 2-day competition.  Another 122 personal best times were achieved.  KSC swimmers won 10 events (Daniel Ford, Rianne Gamayo, Kate MacLean, Balazs Moldovan, Calen Plana, Ella Sledz, Nyla Smith, Sam Wise, and Jaxon Wolff.

Even more amazing about the last few weekends is many swimmers posted some of the fastest times in in Canada for their respective age group.  If you visit Swimming Canada, Rankings, you can sort by event, gender, age, Long Course, Short Course, and by province.
