Good luck everyone at Regionals this weekend! It's going to be a busy weekend - do your best to prepare yourself for good swims - stay relaxed, stay confident and stay positive. Most importantly, remember that things will not go perfectly! You will not have a perfect meet. In fact there's no such thing as "the perfect meet". Prepare yourself to the best of your ability based on the circumstances, be your own biggest supporter and best coach, and race with confidence and determination. If you're going to do it, you might as well do it with everything you have. Just as there's no such thing as "the perfect swim meet", it's impossible to swim more than one race at a time. Focus on the next one, not the one behind you, not the one 24 hours away. All Canadian National swim teams adhere to 5 competition guidelines: PROFESSIONAL, FOCUSSED, RELAXED, ADAPTABLE, NO DRAMA. Let's see if we can adhere to those same principles - be ready, be relaxed, stay calm, focus ONLY on what you can control, remain flexible, and enjoy yourself. The meets are fun, the challenge is exciting, and the very best is far from perfect. GO LAC GO!

T-shirt rotation: Thursday NAVY - Friday - ORANGE - Saturday ROYAL - Sunday ORANGE (if you don't have a shirt of a certain color, don't worry about it, wear what you have!)

CONGRATULATIONS to High Point Award winners from the David Lawson Invitational in Oakville Chloe Kennedy and Ryan Jaberi.

Friday pm and Saturday pm (12 & under sessions):
Warm up 12:00-12:50, racing at 1:00pm
This is 30 minutes earlier than previously listed.
Sunday pm remains unchanged with warm up 12:30-1:20pm, racing at 1:30pm

We are now at 50 swimmers (and 4 chaperones) for our Monday, March 30 excursion to the Pan-Am Pool in Toronto to watch Maggie MacNeil and the rest of our competing swimmers on the first day of the 2020 Olympic Trials. It will be an all-day event and will cost approximately $85 (payment required at a later date), which includes bus, admission to both preliminaries and finals of the Trials to watch all of Canada's top swimmers race for spots on the Olympic and Paralympic teams, a 2 hour training session at the Markham Pan-Am Pool, and lunch and dinner. We have tentatively reserved two 56-passenger coach buses for the day, and would LOVE to fill that second bus to show our support for Maggie and our other Trials swimmers!

Everyone please be aware that we are finally going "LIVE" with our website upgrade next Monday, February 3. We respectfully ask for everyone's patience and cooperation as we move through the transition to our more user-friendly platform. There are sure to be some hiccups along the way, and rest assured we will endeavour to correct any bugs that may arise in as timely a fashion as possible, but know that this change will ultimately make for a more streamlined and efficient website. All of the features offered on our current website will still be there, however the new look and format will undoubtedly take some time to become familiar with. Thank you in advance as we undertake this enhancement.

Statements will be out next week. Any questions or concerns contact Donna at

Clinics: I apologize for not getting around to scheduling these yet but I will be hosting more clinics in February and March prior to the LAC Pentathlon.  Sign-ups will be posted as soon as they are booked.  This will be the last full set of clinics this season.

Official Registrations – I will be personally sending out an email to people who still need to confirm their Swimming Canada official accounts because there are still quite a few LAC Officials who have received at least 1 registration email from and have not responded as instructed in the email.  Another mailing was recently sent out to new and previously unconfirmed accounts.  It would be helpful if people could watch for these emails and respond to them as instructed in the email.  All you need to do is: sign on to your officials account, click on the My Info at the top, make any changes as required to the info and then even if you do not make any changes scroll to the bottom and click on the Save button.  If the email is from then it is unlikely to be SPAM or Phishing and you can safely respond.  This is REQUIRED in order for us to activate your account.  It is important to LAC that officials are activated in this way as it affects our ability to host meets

If you have any officiating questions please contact me, Mark Lukings L.A.C. Co-Club Officials Chair at

The Session Credit Policy is posted under the “Parent Info" tab On the LAC website. All returning families and families transferring from another club, please make sure you review the policy and are award of your session credit commitments for the season.
