2020-21 NEWSLETTER 41

The July schedule is now posted on the website in the "SCHEDULES" tab. On Sunday July 25 we are planning a special day of swimming and other activities at the Thames Park outdoor pool, to coincide with each group's final swim practice of the year. We are also in the early stages of planning a VERY special event for the evening of Sunday July 25, the night of Maggie's 100m butterfly final in Tokyo. There will be separate communication regarding this awesome opportunity - stay tuned!

Our senior swimmers have been offered an optional additional 3 weeks of training from Mon July 26 through Sat Aug 14, at an additional cost. The sign-up for this supplementary training has closed and those swimmers who have signed up have been notified and are asked to remit the supplementary training fee via e-transfer to  [email protected]  as soon as possible.

The virtual dryland program for our Sr Bronze, Age Group and Development swimmers has concluded for the year. Virtual dryland will continue for SrGold and SrSilver on Wednesdays from 3-4pm through to July 21 inclusive.

We want to take this opportunity to congratulate our 15 swimmers who are graduating from the LAC program and moving on to their post-secondary academic journey as well as their post-LAC aquatic journey! Obviously, as with our 2020 graduates, this group of young women and men have overcome some incredible obstacles over the past 15 months to not just successfully complete their high school careers, but THRIVE under the trying circumstances of a global pandemic. We are certain that wherever their paths may lead, all 15 of our 2021 graduates will have a huge and lasting impact on the people and world around them, and will be difference-makers. Congratulations Alyssa Ball, Hayden Bartoch, Carter Buck, Max Burton, Kennedy Cooke, Emilie Duggal, Aidan Falco, Pablo Florencia Villarreal, Alec Gelz, Alexis Harback, Kathryn Ivanov, Tony Kim, Colin Shearer, Elena Tay, and Vladislav Zagidulin. And congratulations Moms and Dads of our 15 graduates,  they couldn't have done it without you. For a photo tribute to our graduating class, and information on where their paths are leading, check the "NEWS" section of the website.

We are happy to report that we have agreed to another year working with All Tides. If you have any questions regarding All Tides orders or product concerns, please contact the following email address [email protected]

Please remember that any individual swim equipment purchases you make on the AllTides website using our LAC coupon code result in a kickback to the club, received at the end of the year. Last year the club received almost $1000 through this arrangement, most of which was put toward the purchase of dryland training equipment. You are helping the club by making your swim equipment purchases through AllTides. All group swim equipment information can be found on our website when you are logged in:  https://www.teamunify.com/team/canlac/page/swimmer-equipment
