Swimming Canada and Swim Ontario have partnered to launch an online 50/50 fundraiser to assist swim clubs and support swimming in Ontario in response to the financial impacts of COVID-19.

This inaugural fundraiser will run from Nov 16 to 30, 2020 and one lucky winner will take home half of the total funds raised. The other half of the proceeds will go towards important efforts to support swimming in Ontario, including assisting swim clubs during COVID-19.

“Swimming Canada is very excited to bring this new fundraising opportunity to support swimming in Ontario,” said Director of Marketing for Swimming Canada, Alan Raphael. “Swimming, like any sport, is essential to the physical and mental health of all, especially during these challenging times. To be able to partner and collaborate with Swim Ontario on this project bodes well for our swimming community but also for the lucky winner!”

With tickets starting at just $5, individuals can support swimming in Ontario by purchasing tickets at www.swimming.ca/5050. Participants must be 18 years of age to play.

“Although we are excited with a safe and successful return to swimming it has been a challenging journey for the swimmers, coaches and clubs,” said CEO of Swim Ontario, Dean Boles. “The shared fundraising initiative with Swimming Canada has come at a perfect time to benefit and support Swim Ontario clubs during the pandemic.”

In addition to the overall prize, two early bird prizes will be drawn. The first early bird prize is $500.00 in Petro-Canada fuel cards, and this will be drawn on Nov 24, 2020 at 5:00 pm EST. The second prize is a signed Serge Ibaka Toronto Raptors jersey from Bell and will be drawn on Nov 27, 2020 at 5:00 pm EST. The winning numbers will be posted on the Swimming Canada website and through all Swim Ontario and Swimming Canada’s social media accounts.

All early bird ticket buyers will be automatically entered to win the overall jackpot prize. The overall jackpot prize winner will be announced Dec 1, 2020 at 10:00 am EST.

Please visit www.swimming.ca/5050 to purchase your tickets today and be sure to follow Swimming Canada and Swim Ontario’s social media accounts for winning ticket numbers and other important announcements.
