The Recreational Swim Team is an 8 week entry level program where new swimmers can learn the fundamentals of swimming and experienced swimmers can improve their technique.  The program is designed for children age 6 and up.  Our coach will assess each swimmer and place them into groups based on age and experience so that they get the best training possible.

The Rec Team coach, Mr Josh Reid is an experienced swimmer and has his Swimming Canada Level One certification as both a competitive team and open water swim coach.   He has been coaching the Holy Trinity High School swim team for the last several years. Josh is excited to provide our newest team members with a fun experience that helps them improve their fitness.

The program will run for 8 consecutive weeks on Saturdays and Sundays starting March 23/19.  The Saturday session will run from 4:10pm -5:10pm and the Sunday session will run from 2:40pm-3:40pm.  Swimmers will attend both sessions.  The Recreational Team swimmers are invited to join our competitive team at a fun-filled Sprint Meet.  At the Sprint meet, swimmers will swim short, 25-50 m (one or 2 length) races in one of the 4 strokes.  Recreational team swimmers may also compete at other meets (eg our local Aqua 7 or Western Region Championships) if desired and/or eligible.  Please see your coach if you have questions.

The cost of the program is $200 for each 8 week session plus an affiliation fee of $46.90.  This affililation fee is for registration with Swim Ontario, which entitles them to swim at one swim meet.  Registration will be in person on the first day of practice, March 23 /19, at the Rec Centre.
