The Newmarket Stingrays will host open New Member Tryouts for swimmers looking to join our leading competitive swim club. The emphasis of these tryouts will be to find new swimmers for our Wave and Splash programs but we will open our tryouts to swimmers of all ages. On December 4-5 we have a racing opportunity to visit the Barrie Trojans Swim Club for their annual Trojan Cup meet. In addition to our club and the Barrie Trojans, the Orangeville Otters will send a squad as well. The facility in Barrie has finalized capacity limits that they are allowing the swim club to invite to their meet. As a result we have been invited to bring 25 swimmers aged 13 & over and 40 swimmers aged 12 & under. This creates a complication that we can not bring...

Heat Sheets and Swimming Canada Competition Safety Warm-Up Procedures: These are posted on the website and will NOT be posted on the wall at the pool. Please review Warm-Up Procedures and check heat and lane assignments prior to arriving at the pool. Coaches will have extra copies of heat sheets. The Newmarket Stingrays are proud to announce that we have promoted Coach Edit Varga to the position of Associate Head Coach starting in the 2021-2022 season. Stingrays Head Coach Dave Ling said "Edit is totally committed to her coaching, she carries fantastic relationships with our swimmers and this promotion acknowledges and formalizes what Edit does for our club and we could not be prouder to support her". Congratulations to our own Newmarket Stingray swimmer Maksym Klakov who was named as co-recipient of the 2021 Swim Ontario Post-Secondary Performance Scholarship. We were thrilled to be able to offer a racing opportunity versus one of the best clubs out in British Columbia, Pacific Coast Swimming (PCS) from Victoria. Due to factors outside of our control not all of PCS was able to participate in the the dual meet so the decision was made just to score events that PCS was able to field swimmers. The Newmarket Stingrays are pleased to announced that we have found a new dryland facility partner, ARC - Athletic Rehabilitation and Conditioning. ARC is located at 220 Pony Drive, Unit 4 near Leslie and Davis. They have a huge indoor space with great equipment. Starting the week of September 21st the National Sr./Senior and AG1/AG2 groups will utilize this faclity in the mornings so we may offer an enhanced dryland program to these groups early in the season while we have less pool space during the recovery from the pandemic....
