Nanaimo White Rapids Swim Club Lessons

Nanaimo White Rapids Winter Maintenance Registration

We are so pleased to have been able to run our maintenance program during such a difficult and challenging time this fall!  Thanks to swimmers and their families for following our safety plan and for staying home when sick, wearing a mask, keeping your distance and helping us keep everyone safe at the pool.  The winter maintenance session starts on January 4th and runs until mid-April, with breaks during statutory holidays and spring break.  COVID-19 means rental space continues to be very limited at NAC.  We have the same days, times and lanes as during the fall.

Registration is now for the full session.  The session fee will be charged upon registration (no automatic monthly payments).  The fee is based on the same rate as Fall Maintenance ($13 per hour practice and $10 per 45 min practice).  Payment is required by credit card with registration.  If unable to pay by credit card, e-transfer is also accepted (select Pay by cheque).

NEW:  If your child is attending SD68 Island Connect Ed (ICE) or another distance learning program, NWRSC may qualify as a third party vendor.  An official form must be completed by the parent, signed by the student’s teacher, and submitted to the school’s office.   Approved “Third Party Vendor” agreements are paid by ICE on behalf of the family.  Parents cannot be reimbursed by the school for programs and items parents have purchased.  If you think your child may be eligible, please review:

All current Fall Maintenance participants will be given one week to register in the same group(s) as they are currently registered in.  During this week, anyone who registers in a group that they were NOT already registered in will be removed from that group and asked to wait until registration opens to the larger membership.

Starting on December 27, 2020, registration will open to all intermediate and senior swimmers who either withdrew from or chose not to participate in Fall Maintenance.

Due to the inability to provide in-water support, any junior swimmers who did not participate in Fall Maintenance 2020 will have to contact Kate Palmer ([email protected]) to request approval to register.  Coaches will be consulted to ensure the swimmer has the ability to participate safely.

  • Please conduct a health self-assessment before arriving at the pool and stay home if you are not feeling well or have any Covid related symptoms.
  • Arrive ready to swim 5 minutes before session start time at back entry door to NAC to meet your coach for attendance and screening.
  • Masks must be worn at all times indoors including entering and exiting the pool and while in the bleachers.
  • There are no make-up swims for missed sessions or switching groups.
  • Any registration changes must be made in writing to and approved by Kate Palmer.
