Club Information

The Scarborough Swim Club is a not-for-profit swim club providing professional swim instruction, training and coaching for competitive swimmers of all ages. The operations of the Club are overseen by a volunteer Board of Directors elected annually by the membership and is governed according to the Club's By-Laws.

Since 1954, we have been training children and young adults in the sport of competitive swimming with truly outstanding results.  Whether you are a beginning or advanced swimmer, there is a place for you.  The sport of competitive swimming has many benefits including the many friends that you and your swimmer will make amongst other families involved in the sport.  Swimming also provides one of the most beneficial forms of exercise for cardiovascular and overall fitness – exercise that can be enjoyed throughout life.  Possibly the greatest benefits of participating in an organized swim program are the life skills your swimmer will develop.  These skills include time management, self-discipline and sportsmanship.  Your swimmer will reap the benefits of swimming for many years.

The Club primarily operates in the eastern region of the GTA, including Scarborough, East York and the Beaches. The Club has been creating champions for over 60 years and has a rich history in Canadian aquatics.  This past season, the Club had over 130 pre-competitive swimmers and 150 competitive swimmers from the development program all the way up to the National group. We have been steadily growing the quantity and quality of our swimmers and have moved many of our programs into the new world-class aquatic facility that was built in Scarborough for the 2015 Pan-Am Games.

The Club has swimmers representing Toronto from local competitions up to National Championships and has a number of swimmers who are nationally ranked in the top 25 in their age group. Scarborough Swim Club swimmers have attended Canadian Olympic Trials in 1992 through 2021. Our future looks even brighter for 2021 and beyond.

It is the Scarborough Swim Club's mission to provide the opportunity to all swimmers, regardless of their ability, to Be the Best That They Can Be and to reach their highest level of achievement through hard work, discipline, support, encouragement and team spirit provided by the Coaches, swimmers and parents/guardians.

Interested in joining our team? We are looking for enthusiastic swim instructors looking to develop young swimmers.
