Our History

The Scarborough Swim Club has a long and rich history. Since 1954, we have been training children and young adults in the sport of competitive swimming with truly outstanding results. The Scarborough Swim Club has produced many National and International swimmers. Some of our more distinguished alumni include:

  • Cindy Nicholas (1968-72),  Champion Marathon Swimmer: "Queen of the Channel" with 19 crossings of the English Channel

  • Angela Coughlan (1971-72), National Team Member - Olympian - World Record Holder

  • Carol Klimpel (1978-84), National Champion - National Record Holder 100m Freestyle - Olympian - 4 gold medals at Commonwealth Games.

  • Liz Warden 2004 Canadian Olympic Team Member

  • Bob Hayes, former Canadian National Team Member
