Swimmers from our Youth Provincial, Provincial Development, Western Development and National Development groups all competed at the Richmond FastSwim meet December 17-19. A number of our swimmers did a great job on underwaters and the elevated level of competition during the finals sessions was excellent. This past weekend PSW also had 11 swimmers compete from Western and National Development at UBC at the inaugural VPSC Winter Invitational. This swim meet brought swimmers from BC as well as Alberta to compete in a three day heats and finals format. This past weekend we had swimmers compete in Chilliwack from Junior Provincial, Junior Regional, Youth Regional and Youth Development! Junior Provincial There were a total of 10 Junior Provincial swimmers at the meet this past weekend. The group as a whole did an outstanding job swimming their 200 freestyle. Over the December 3-5 weekend Sebastian Massabie was in Saskatoon testing for his level 3 para classsification. For those of you that might not know, there are mulitiple para classification levels. Level 1 means that the swimmer can compete in sanctioned swim meets. Level 2 means the swimmer can compete at provincial level swim meets. Level 3 means the swimmer can compete Nationally. This past Friday and Saturday PSW had swimmers race out at the Guildford Recreation Centre. Youth Provincial Long Course We had 4 Youth Provincial swimmers attend the long course session on Friday night. Neil Z and Matthew C had a very impressive 200 free race where they pushed really hard and finished 0.01 apart. We sent 29 swimmers from our Provincial Development and Youth Provincial groups to Richmond this past Saturday for a few distance events in what was a very successful day.
