This past weekend PSW sent 35 swimmers to LMR Championships in Langley. The format of this meet was changed this year to incorporate heats and finals. On February 1st and 2nd PSW hosted our second swim meet of the season at Grandview Heights. This meet is a higher level competition where swimmers that attend UBC come to race and we have swimmers from all over the province as well as from the states out to compete. On January 25th and 26th PSW sent 8 swimmers from the Senior program to the SKSC Winter Fest at Fleetwood Pool. On January 25th PSW sent 17 swimmers to North Vancouver to race at the 12&Under Chena Meet from the Junior 2 and Junior 3 groups. For the Junior 3 swimmers this was their first experience racing at a non PASS meet where there were stroke and turn judges. This past Sunday 21 swimmers raced at the SKSC PASS Meet. There were a lot of best times as well as personal accomplishments. Each swimmer had a goal for each race whether it's having a tight streamline off the wall of breathing in side glide. The majority of the swimmers accomplished their goals! This past weekend PSW competed at the CDSC New Years Invitational in Vancouver and again showed great results. Our swimmers showed the benefits of their Christmas training and achieved numerous best times in the first meet of the New Year. 19 PSW Senior swimmers attended the HYACK Icebreaker this past weekend in New West. These swimmers had just come out of a relatively intensive 10 day training camp over Christmas break and did a great job of showcasing the work they had put in. Over camp swimmers were either in a distance group, an IM group or a stroke group. The IM group won the meet with over 87% best times accross that entire group. PSW had 4 swimmers representing two different zones. Adian McDonough - won the 100 breast, as well as silvers in the 50 and 100 back, the 50 and 100 free and the 50 fly in the mens Para Multi Class. Katherine Toy won silver in the 100 free, bronze in the 50 free, and a 5th place finish in the 200 free. Catherine Gimme won the 100 and 200 backstroke, and placed 3rd in the 800 free. Katrina Shinaruk finaled in the 200 breast placing 7th.  

Congratulations PSW - this was easily our finest "Team" competition this season.  The group was great both boys and girls and young to old.   Highlights  Ariana Aktary swam to a 10th place finish in the 200 back. Alex Blaskovich very strong in the distance and the fly with a 3rd place finish in the 200 fly, to go with a silver in the 400IM and a win in the mile.
