This past Sunday PSW had 15 swimmers compete at the Delta Distance LMR. These swimmers had great success with 85% best times for those competing in the 400 free, and 100% best times for those competing in the 800 free. This past Sunday PSW had 31 swimmers from Youth 3, Junior 2/3 and Sea Wolves compete out in Chilliwack at our second PASS Meet of the season. The PASS meets are our second level of meets where swimmers are working towards getting under 2:15 in the 100 IM so that they can swim the 200 IM. On Saturday morning PSW had 19 athletes from Youth 1 and Senior compete at Fleetwood for a one day Long Course Racing opportunity. The coaches were very happy with how each swimmer preformed with big racing opportunities just 2 weeks away for Senior and 3 weeks away for Youth. Last weekend PSW had 29 swimmers compete at the SFU/Gators LMR up at Simon Frser University. Swimers from the Youth and Junior programs represented black and yellow with lots of team spirit and positivity. This past weekend 45 PSW swimmers competed at the Brad Reid Memorial Invitational in Coquitlam, and had great success. Once again we saw a lot of best times, and for the first time this season enjoyed watching swimmers team up in some relays. On Saturday morning instead of heading over to Grandview for their regular practice Youth 1 went to Richmond Watermania to compete in the 400 Free. The Lower Mainland Region sets up multiple Distance LMR events over the course of the season and they are a great opportunity for swimmers to race their first 400, 800 or 1500m freestyle without having to achieve a certain qualifying time. Yesterday PSW had 20 Sea Puppies compete in Richmond for their first Mini Meet of the season. At this meet swimmers are assigned a level of competition, level 1 swimmers compete in 25's and level 2 swimmers compete in 50's. This past Sunday PSW had 71 athletes compete at our first PASS Meet of the season. This is the first opportunity for swimmers to race the 100 and 200 IM. Once coaches feel the swimmers can complete the 100 IM in under 2:45 then they get a chance to race it and once they are under 2:15 they get to race the 200 IM.
