Junior Program Groups


Entry Criteria 

Swimmers are invited to join a group in our Junior Program – the invitation is based on the swimmer’s skills, goals and training-level interest.  Our goal is to ensure that the selected group is the best fit for each swimmer, taking into consideration all three factors.

Swimmers with ROC Swimming are placed in a group at the end of the previous competitive season, while new members are placed into a group after participating in an assessment that can be scheduled with ROCS.

Junior Black


 

The Junior Black group is our group for swimmers ages 12-14 who are still mastering their competitive swimming skills, and working towards qualification at a regional level. These swimmers are at a late Learn-To-Train or early Train-To-Train stage of sport development.      

 

This group trains 6.0 hours per week in the water and has an additional 1.5 hours of dry land training, which complements their swim training. Each practice includes a mandatory 10-minute activation routine prior to pool time.

 

Practices for the 2018-2019 season begin for Junior Black on the evening of Tuesday, September 11, 2018.

Junior Red


 

The Junior Red is our group for swimmers ages 11-12 who are at or near regional qualification standards and working towards provincial level qualification. These swimmers are at a late Learn-To-Train or early Train-To-Train stage of sport development.

 

This groups trains 9.0 hours per week in the water and has an additional three 1.0-hour dryland sessions, which complements their swim training. Each practice includes a mandatory 10-minute activation routine prior to pool time.

 

Practices for the 2018-2019 season begin for Junior Red on the morning of Tuesday, September 4, 2018.

Junior White


 

Junior White is our group for swimmers ages 12-14 who are working towards qualifying at provincial and national level qualification. These swimmers are in the Train-To-Train stage of sport development.

 

This groups trains 12.0 hours per week in the water and has three 1.0-hour dryland sessions, which complement their swim training. Each practice includes a mandatory 10-minute activation routine prior to pool time.

 

Practices for the 2018-2019 season begin for Junior White on the morning of Tuesday, September 4, 2018.
