ROCS Defends Home Turf Twice in May The month of May was very busy for the ROCS swimmers! Our team hosted local clubs for the first time in four years at our 8th Annual Go the Distance Night & Long Course Pentathlon and then hit the pavement biking and running at the Somersault Early Bird triathlon. ROCS at 2023 Bell Canadian Swimming Trials Two members of our Senior White group are in Toronto this week to compete at the 2023 Bell Canadian Swimming Trials hosted at the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre March 28th to April 2nd. Success at Provincials We want to tell you of the success that four of our swimmers had this past weekend in Scarborough at the Ontario Swimming Championships. This event featured some of the top swimmers from across the province from more than 100 participating clubs. Big Time Drops in Kingston We had some great competition the weekend of February 24-26th featuring 45 of our swimmers that we wanted to highlight for all of you. Coaches Amanda, Hanna, and Bruce, descended to Queen’s University pool for the Kingston Blue Marlins Heats & Finals Finale. Bar Set High at Youth-Junior Champs ROCS had five swimmers competing at the Winter Ontario Youth-Junior Championships this past weekend at the Etobicoke Olympium. It was the first time for Ben, Isabella, Nolan, Ryan and Tyler at this provincial level competition and they did a fantastic job representing the team. Many Firsts at the ROCS Time Trial This past Saturday ROCS held a time trial for all swimmers in the club. Time trials are a great opportunity to try new events. The environment and crowd are friendly and the home pool advantage is strong. In addition, to motivate swimmers to finish strong to the wall, we had a prize table for swimmers who won a “bell” or “gong” prize - though in this case the noisemaker was a cowbell!
