By Alex Pettifer This winter’s BC Age Group Championships was a standout year for the Rapids. Performances were fantastic all around. Every swimmer did their best to move up from their seeded rankings all weekend long. Due to this exceptional effort, the Rapids finished third in the team rankings, the highest finish at Age Group Champs so far. Three Rapids graduates recently competed in their freshman debut at U-Sport Champs. Brian Yu competed for McGill, and Matthew Crawford and Matthew Meuleman both raced for UBC Yu finished 9th in both the 50 free and 100 breaststroke. His performance in the 50 breaststroke earned a silver medal. Crawford finished 4th in the 50 back, 6th in the 100 back, and 16th in the 200 back, all three in personal best time.
