Over the past couple of weeks, ROW swimmers have been competing at provincial level meets.

While at provincials, Natalie Peterson won a bronze medal in 100 Back and a silver medal in 200 Back, while Alex Rus qualified for his first provincial finals in the 200 fly finishing 7th. Matthew Berton placed 8th in the 400 IM. Both Matthew and Alex fully qualified for Eastern Canadian Championships in Quebec City in April. Rounding out the team attending provincials, Andrew Kuiper, Alina Armbruster and Hannah Gallagher achieving multiple best times.

ROW sent 6 more athletes to Ontario Youth/Junior Championships this past weekend, Mackenzie Leu, Alan Stas, Samantha Berton, Zoe Choi, Jessica Reibel and Hannah Cressman. Once again there were multiple best times achieved. The top performance was by Jessica Reibel, placing 4th in the 800 Free and Samantha Berton in the 200 Breast, narrowing missing Eastern Canadian Championships.

Outside of the age group championship meets, ROW/Laurier's own, Jasmine Raines raced to a Bronze medal at U Sport Championships (Canadian Universities). Jasmine requalified for Canadian Swimming Trials in April, where she will join teammates, Natalie Peterson, Cameron McCuaig, Lauren Shearer and Aidan Elliot.

Currently, 9 ROW swimmers are attending a training camp in Plantation, Florida for the next 8 days. They will be put through a fairly gruelling training regime both in the pool and on land. This form of training will challenge every individual to a new heightened commitment of performance.
