Goldfins Christmas Time Trial Report

 

The Saskatoon Goldfins Swim Club hosted the 1^st Annual Goldfins Christmas Time Trial, Thursday, December 19, 2019 – Shaw Centre, Saskatoon, SK.  Fifty-three senior Goldfins raced in this successful time trial.

Head Coach, Steven Hitchings commented on the benefits of this event, “We had a lot of great swims, some best times and some new qualifiers!  I was very happy with the swimming last night, getting in a Long Course race before the break gives the swimmers a nice reminder of the difference between racing in 25m pool versus a 50m pool.  The coaches and I were also able to see some things that need work before we go race again.”

Goldfins swimmers posted 51 personal best long course times.  Congratulations to the swimmers who posted 100% personal best long course times: Olivia Archer, Halley Berg, Alyssa Clark, Karys England, Abby Fortier, Caeli Granger, Klaire Lamont, Merieliss Lyle, Obi Nguyen, Ava Norman, Mateyo Olszynski, Angelo Pallaro, Aaliyah Rodriguez, Rhett Smith, Tori Strydom, Adrianne Tanjusay, Shanna Tierney, and Claire Yeo.

Goldfins swimmers posted a total of 18 new long course qualifying time standards.  Angelo Pallaro will join the Goldfins 2020 Western Canadian Championship Team and Olivia Archer will join the Goldfins 2020 Junior Provincial Team, as both of these swimmers posted the required qualifying times.
