Turning Up the Heat in Regina at the 2020 Prairie Optimist Cup

It may be cold outside, but the Saskatoon Goldfins Swim Club will be turning up the heat in Regina, SK this weekend at the 8th Annual Prairie Optimist Cup Swim Meet, January 17 – 19, 2020, Lawson Aquatic Centre.

“This meet provides the Goldfins swimmers an opportunity to continue their training in a competitive environment as we prepare for the upcoming Senior Provincial Championships (Man/SK 2020).” Goldfins Blue 12/18 coach Sean Pederson said.  “Swimmers have been training hard in preparation for this in-season swim meet and will be ready to test their skills and training at this event.”

There will be 71 Goldfins entered in 451 individual events over the course of the weekend.

 

The meet schedule is as follows:

Friday, January 17, 2020 – Session 1 – Warm-Up 4:00 PM & Competition: 5:00 PM

Events: 200 Breaststroke, 100 Fly, 800 Freestyle, 4 X 100 Freestyle Relay

Saturday, January 18, 2020 – Session 2 – Warm-Up: 7:30 AM & Competition: 8:30 AM

Events: 100 Breaststroke, 50 Freestyle, 200 Backstroke, 50 Fly, 200 Free, 4 X 50 Medley Relay

Saturday, January 18, 2020 – Session 3 – Warm-Up: 3:30 PM & Competition: 4:30 PM

Events: 100 Backstroke, 50 Breaststroke, 200 Fly, 100 Freestyle, 50 Backstroke, 4 X 50 Freestyle Relay

Sunday, January 19, 2020 – Session 4 – Warm-Up: 8:00 AM & Competition: 9:00 AM

Events: 400 Freestyle, 200 IM, 4 X 100 Medley Relay
