Records Fall at the First Saskatchewan Swim Meet of the 2021 Swim Season
On Saturday, June 26, 2021 the Goldfins proudly co-hosted the first swim meet held in Saskatchewan in fourteen long months. The Goldfins and the Saskatoon Lasers Swim Club, hosted 128 swimmers who competed in this sanctioned competition..
Goldfins’ Blake Tierney broke two (2) Provincial Senior Male Short Course Records and two Goldfins Club Records in the 50M Backstroke (25.00) and in the 50M Breaststroke (28.11) events.
Blake, along with Brayden Hemeon, Ethan Hemeon, and Jayden Bilous competed in the 4 X 50 (200M) Medley Relay event. This Goldfins relay team posted a best time of 1:42.76, breaking a Saskatchewan Provincial Short Course Record (1:42.80) that had been held for seven years. They also broke the Goldfins Club record that had stood for over twenty years (1:43.59)
The Goldfins Swim Club was represented by 89 swimmers who competed in 349 individual sanctioned events, posting 324 sanctioned personal best times.
