Goldfins Swimmers Are Set to Defend Title at the 2023 Man/SK Winter Championships
The Saskatoon Goldfins is set to participate in the 2023 Man/SK Long Course Winter Senior Provincial Championships, March 2 - 5, 2023, Shaw Centre – Saskatoon, SK. This swim meet is the first of two Provincial Championship swim meets held during the 2023 - 2023 swimming season. This age group meet provides an opportunity for experienced swimmers to swim in preliminary heats and finals. Goldfins will be competing in 417 individual events and in 12 relay events over the course of the weekend.
"This weekend the Goldfins will be defending our title as Man/Sask Open Champions!” Goldfins head coach, Steven Hitchings, said in a statement. “Joining in this effort is our largest ever contingent of 60 swimmers. Living the value of Commitment (showing up for team and ourselves) the Goldfins Swim Club has always been best served in setting up an environment for each swimmers' individual success. When all of the swimmers as individuals succeed the team succeeds.”
"The Goldfins are looking to the relays to be a big part of our Championship Title defense, with two relays per gender and age group. 60 swimmers will also mean some competition amongst teammates to get onto the A and B relays, swimmers and coaches are looking for some Club and Provincial Records in the Medley Relays Saturday night. Overall, this looks to be a fun and fast weekend of racing that could not happen without our team of dedicated volunteers. Thank you to everyone for volunteering this weekend!"
